Does smoking make you anti-social?

I've been super-stoned since monday, when I picked up an Oz of really potent and aromatic mids - the best weed I've had in the better part of a year. I tend to smoke a lot of weed, but I enjoy being stoned; to suffer the boredom of summer vacation sober is a horrible thought. I feel very disconnected from people: I tend to get a lot warmer and funny when I'm stoned, but when I get back to normal - once the weed is gone and I have to wait for more - I feel even more disconnected from my social life. In fact, I really just want to get stoned again, which, when I am baked, I don't want to be.

You are a shy person...thats all there is to it...weed makes people chill/calm/not care. whats important is that you dont lose your ability to socialize without weed. Just remember....weed doesnt make you act any certain way...you are always you....feeling disconnected is all in your head stemming from insecurities...you should find atleast 1 friend that you can always be with and feel comfortable around...its always better to have an aliby.

Definitely, if you try to live a life that is a lie, or try to act like someone who you are not, it will definitely show when you are high. I feel bad for people like that.

im not a big people person [ except for close friends and family] but i feel no diff. when smoking than when not ....but i do know that when im not stoned i have far less patience for un friendly or stupid people i run in to in the coarse of the day

my friends and i always hang out and smoke..thats usually what we do, and hang out for.

Weed makes me more social if anything. Helps give me the confidence (or... well.. the "I don't care" attitude) enough to pick up girls, go party ect. Plus I love smokin' weed with homies.

I suffer from a small taste of social anxiety, and being stoned makes me the people person from hell.. Im all talkative and crackin Jokes and just have a good time, wheras when im not high, i get very defensive,on my guard,ready to throw at the drop of a hat, around people i dont know/crowds.
I guess its prolly a mind thing more than the weed really, i think im high so its ok mentality..idunno

I disagree lung it ain't in your brain! Well, I mean like, yea it's in your brain literally but yea weed makes you relaxed and just not give too much a shit about stuff that doesn't matter (like if someone random fucker doens't like you).

I am a VERY shy person, even around the girls I still get nervous :rolleyes: I know, lame for a 23yr old.

But I have a puff and I feel more connected. Not that I don't sober, I just some slight social problems and smoking up really opens me up. What makes me even less shy is if someone else in the room smoked pot too, then I feel connections big time. After smoking with a stranger, getting high with them talking and shit, you feel a strong connection. It's a bond, you know? I don't know.

I think smoking erb has made me a more social person both when I am stoned and when I'm not. Before I started smoking I was really shy and kinda anti-social. I went to parties and stuff occasionally but I pretty much just stayed at home on my comp most of the time. Now I'm like the most social person out of all my friends. Now I go to parties all the time or I just chill with my friends. At parties weed gives me the chance to talk to people cuz if someone wants to smoke I'm always out there with them (always throw in my own weed of course) and I have made so many new friends because of a wonderful little weed called marijuana.

I think it all depends on the situation your in. Some people are so much better to get high with. Just have to find your click. Dont hang with people that are fake, lie, steal shit, mooch, etc

I think I've gotten laid a hell of a lot more since I've started smoking than before. It's definetly gotten me out of the house, which is sort of ironic when you think about it.

yea, i agree with chowder. it can be someone you don't know or never met before. im so conscious around the world around me and new people. when we blaze all that is dropped and its all good. i feel like i can say anything i want, talk to any girl, that i wouldnt normally do when sober, and just be who the real you inside is trying to get out

Oh yeah. When I was in middle school, I couldn't even look at a girl. Talk to them? - get out of here! But when you're stoned, you just strike up this conversation, and, the next thing you know, you're having the most fun you can have without laughing!
