ZANDORA OR HARDON:I DONT GOT THE WHOLE RATIO "10-5-5" THING...HELP!

i dont get the whole ratio thing.... im gpoing to start a new plant and in the veg. stage i need something high in N(itrogen), such as 8-7-6, then bump it up to 10-5-5, but what are all these numbers???is it how many scoops i put in or what???(dont laugh, please!)*HOW DO I FIGURE THIS OUT????***WILL YOU PLEASE DESCRIBE TO ME IN GOOD DETAIL WHAT I AM MISUNDERSTANDING???????THANK YOU AND PLEASE DONT LAUGH AT ME! :confused: :)
