Just wondering.. what are the metals that are safe to smoke out of? I made a pipe, and the bowl is brass. I'm pretty sure that brass is safe.. just wanted to make sure.

By the way, don't tell me anything like: OMG!! DONT SMOKEG OUT UF ALUMINIUM!!1 iTS BaD 4 U OMG!! I know that. That's why I'm using brass, thanks.

i dont think that anyone has actually provided proof that aluminum foil is bad to smoke out of, so dont just believe what you hear, many many many people on this board have smoked out of aluminum foil many times, myself included, and were not dead, so go for it. until i have proof that its bad, ill keep believing that its perfectly fine (even though i usually smoke out of glass, or paper)

actually alluminum wont kill you, but has been proven to greatly increase the risk of alzhimers(i know i didnt spell that one right), your not gonna get sick now by smokin tinies but you will later

putting methamphetamine in a "bowl" shaped piece of aluminum foil and burning it up under to inhale it on top will make you cough up a lung, LITERALLY, i had a meth addict friend who couldn't control the chunks coming up out of her lungs from that...

i've always made bowls for marijuana out of aluminum foil and plastic bottles, other than coughing up a little phlegm, i've never had any serious adverse effects...now long-term...i couldn't tell ya...i've only smoked from aluminum/plastic bowls for about 7 years, occasionally, so the way-distal effects might be beyond my explanation...

brass is safe.. i like wood or glass better though ...most metal bowls sold in headshops that ive purchased over the yrs were brass... i do remember a couple bongs i had when i was a kid.. that had aluminum bowls... but i havnt seen one in a real long time

alright, i did alittle research, it turns out that smoking out of an aluminum bowl is about as dangerous as drinking a glass of water... theres aluminum in water, and antipersperants... aluminum as small as this gets absorbed into your blood stream and accumulates in your brain, but in such tiny tiny amounts, it will do nothing to you (remember, people often grill fish and such with aluminum.. its not as bad as you all make it out to be), so if your in a pinch, go ahead and use an aluminum bowl. soda cans however, i would never use, have you ever chucked a soda or beer can in a fire, the flame turns green, i dont really wanna inhale those fumes

Well, it's good to know that I'm not going to die by smoking out of my pipe. I'm prolly going to burn it a bit, just to get off any oil, lubricants, cleaning stuff, etc. from my bowl before I toke out of it. I bought the damn thing at a Home Depot. Works great!!

Aluminum is only bad for you if you overheat it.

Yeah, that's what I heard. If you actually light the aluminum and get all those nasty fumes and stuff and inhale that, say "bye bye" to your brain, but just letting the smoke go through it (like a bowl) is pretty harmless.

Yeah, glass is cool.. I used to have a pretty cool glass piece before I broke it.

I like my piece that I just made because you can unscrew the whole thing into 3 different parts and clean it out. Hellooo resin!
