heat is a bad thing when it comes to grow lights. like the man said HPS or MH. shop around and you can get good prices.

Hi,

I've currently picked up some new lighting. I'm not sure if these lights are suitable for growing under. Please help, I'm not sure if these will damage my babies.

Edit: They've got a rating of max500watts/250v

Hope this helps.

sorry Albsie those shop lights
have the wrong spectrum as well,
HPS, MH or Florescent are the three
best light spectrums for Mary Jane.
good luck.

damage damage damage, don't waste your time with that lamp. That is a halogen lamp and will fry your plants...can you afford to buy lights necessary to grow?...If on a budget inside sun.com is selling 250 hps for $80, there is always e-bay I bought a 400mh and 250hps for $60 ea., and last, but not least, you can get 45w cfl's at wally's for $9 ea., but you will need 4-6 of them, they screw right into a regular light socket...hope that answered your question.peace, latewood
