I just ordered their 125W CFL system with both red and blue bulbs off their website. I've heard good things about them so I hope to be satisfied when they arrive.

You will definitely need more lights than what comes with the kit you want.

These bulbs are yet another less than adequate light setup up that will grow some weed but the yeild be less than desirable.

The first link is for a total shit bulb.

The second link is a misleading ad.

The bulbs are higher lumen rated only because of the reflector system that is attached to the light setup.

Remove the reflectors, the lumens will drop precipitously.
I dont like or use reflectors myself, as they reflect too much heat back to the plant canopy.

Also, the bases appear to be screw into any regular socket type, not needing a mogul base.

While these lights will grow, they will be shitty little buds, light, airy and non dense.

Good Luck....

I have posted other sources for review for the CFL lights you want in previous threads. Seach out one called Quality CFL's.

Good Luck.

This light appears more in tune with what is needed...but the low price is waht concerns me.

It also appears this light is increasing the lumen rating with the parabolic reflector.

Dont let the no heat....low heat shit fool you either. A true 125W CFL gets hot enuff to sizzle and burn the skin right off of your arm.

I have permanent scars from such unfortunate run ins with them.

You get what you pay for.

The only way to tell is to try them and post the results.

Presonally, I think the price is way too low to be a true light for maximum growth. Just doesnt sound legit.

A lot of these companies selling low cost CFL such as these, cheat you on the mercury content inside the tubing.

This translates to a very very short life of the usefull lumens produced. While the bulb may burn for 2 years, the lumen output drops long before that.

Keep that in consideration on buying the cheapo lights like this on ebay.

These lights on this link may produce a modest yeild, but no more than one or two.

You get what you pay for....

Buyer beware.

Instead of making a new topic....

I see this is sort of old and answered and my question has to do with lights.....

Hope you don't mind

I want to VEG only with this light for 1 month and when my grow is over I can move them to my 600w horti. Of course shorting the turn around time is my goal here.

I am not 100% sure I should go this way or just get an MH 250?

12 seedlings to 18 to 24 inches or 4 weeks, whatever comes first. "Maybe 6 weeks if I can pull it off".

Soil grow and will be in a box surrounded by mylar. Can this 200w floro do the job for 4 weeks or do I need a MH 250? I want to keep my electric low and heat in the box down but DO NOT WANT a slow growing plant for 4 weeks.

I have a 600 and if I add 200 that is ok in my book but I do not want 1000w going on at once if it can be avoided.

any ideas?

i use compact flours for my veg,5 150w & it could be better. The light in ad I have seen at local hydro store & it is a brite asss light plus runs cool.i think it would work fine but if you are sweating 50 watts don't.If you plan on clones to start with I would stick with the flours.

50w is nothing. got a link?

Mostly wondering if that 200w will be enough for 12 plants X 4 weeks or should I get a 250w HP? At what height will these be infective? I can keep 12 plants in a 3X3 space for 4 weeks but... Just looking for my best option for VEG only. Any other ideas are welcomed.

The light you have linked will be good for about 2 plants for full veg state...
Maybe 3.....if you can keep them short.

Those housing reflectors generate much back radiant heat which can prohibit getting them close enuff to do the job.

Get three of those 200W lights, without the silly housing units.

You can do 6 - 9 plants with three of those...for about 2.5 years.

Also do not buy their mogul base sockets. They are charging 43.00 and you can get them for 15.00 from insidesun.

3 200w, 600w total.

Might as well pick up a 400w MH, you think? I have been playing with the idea. Not sure if I want 1000w on grow lights.
