The reason I am coming to this forum to ask this question is because growers have brains and alot of other forums contain nothing but idiot chatter. Anyway, an old man who lives in my neighborhood has some beautiful roosters which he says are fighting cocks. They dont seem very mean am I wondering how they train barnyard chickens to fight? Do they abuse the chickens to make them fight? He also said chickens raised for meat live in crowded conditions where the weak ones get badly beaten by the others. Then they get hung alive and have their throats slit. That seems messed up and if it is true, I will never eat a chicken again. Can anyone please give me an intelligent answer. Please!!!

Anyone involved in that barbaric sport deserves to be shot. I've seen undercover footage of cock fighting and it's horrific. I didn't think it would be that bad as they are only small and don't seem to be able to do much damage to anything; but they really tear each other to pieces. Very sad. They attach sharp metal hooks to their feet too so they inflict more damage when they claw each other. I'm not sure how they force them to fight, it may be a male rivalry thing or they may put a female between them like they do in horse fighting. Whatever it is it's fucking wrong.

the reason that they do that though, is so that most of the blood will be drained out of them, via gravity, and there still beating.. but not for long, heart. other-wise the chickens would be even more of a bloody mess for the consumer. who wants to eat a chicken full of blood.

I hope I can spread the word on how cruel of practice which people who are eating are participating in. I may eat one raised on a pasture the way cows are. Next time you eat chicken you are committing a savage act of animal cruely. Unless it is a range fed chiken. Chickens benefit from canabis seed. Cannabis benefits from chickens. ya'all screwed up. first off while cockfighting may "seem" barbaric to some, other cultures dont see it like that. we are not the only culture on this chunk of rock! secondly, chickens have the mental capacity of 1.3 goldfish, dont hear anyone bitching of the cruelty of feeding your fish goldfish. we used to raise chickens, & let me tell you they are the nastiest critters alive. they will eat their own shit & each other. what i dont hear anyone bitching about is the ton of hormones they put in chicken feed in order to give us nice tender breasts & nuggets. that is horrible! have your seen a 4th grader sporting DD breasts? our kids school is full of them. in Puerto Rico where chicken is fed @ least 2X a day they have hundreds of little jennifer lopez' running around @ 12yrs old! i just love hearing PETA people bitch about mistreatment of animals, just wish our children had the same rights as chickens! if PETA people gave 2 shits about their own species they would never had acquitted MJ for being the sicko we all know he really is! r
