I dunno about you guys, but where I am the cops have WAY too much time on thier hands, so they spend all thier time parked in some dark corner waiting for some speeder. If anything, and I do mean anything, happens, then there are like 10 cops there, even if they are just busting some fool for probation violation. They love to pull suspicious (in other words, black) people over and try to get them to let them search the car.

However, once I get away from the 'burbs into Atlanta, the cops suddenly become much more cool. I remember an almost-collision with a downtown ATL cop, and we are all drunk and high and had some weed, he just came to window and said "be more careful next time", didnt even check the license. I think it's because he has thinks like shootings and crack-smokers to worry about.

How are the cops in your area? Are they assfuckers, or are they cool?

The cops suck here like everywhere. The San Francisco Bay area has close to 6 million people though so they're usually too busy to be lurking in dark corners. Plus forget it if you really need one. A few years back I opened the door to my folks house but my Mom forgot I was coming and had chained the door. She had set the alarm and since I couldn't get in to turn it off it sent a signal directly to the police. Eventually I figured out a way to pop the chain and get it. It wasn't until an hour or so later, however, as I was leaving, that a cop finally pulled up. Shit man, that much later, what's the point?

A cop just pissed me off. I was traveling on a road that used to be 45 the last time I traveled it. I hadn't been on that road in 5 years. I don't know when they changed the speed limit, but I wasn't paying attention to that. I was doing 49 and I saw the cop, I checked for a posted speed as I knew the 35 zone was coming up. Little did I notice they moved the city limit sign out about two miles and changed the speed limit to 35 on the entire road. Now the cop should have giving me a warning as I haven't had a ticket in years, but NOOOOOO I got an 80 fine that I had to pay in 10 days. PISSED ME OFF! In Sooke (the small town I live in) there are 3 cops in total, so they really aren't an imposing force in the neighbourhood. In Langford, the neighbouring city where I usually hang out, the cops are more of an imposing force but they're just as stupid.

They caught us once with a crumb of weed and a shitload of booze, and lectured us on why we shouldn't smoke weed for 45 (while we were in the freezing cold), and then drove away without a word about the booze. One of them even asked me why I didn't smoke cigarettes, because they were healthier. I told him "because cigarettes don't get me high".

Another time, a couple of friends and I were meeting a person at a bus stop at about 11:00 at night, and some drunk frat boys asked us for cigarettes. We told them we didn't have any (which was true), and they started to follow us, saying they were going to rape my friend's girlfriend, and kill all of us. Keep in mind we were all smaller than them, and they outnumbered us. My friend phoned 911 on his cell phone. The cops came, asked us our names (treating us like we were criminals the whole time), and then left us there, with the drunk guys across the road. Lucky for them, we managed to get away.

Cops are a mixed bag like anything else. What would possess you to be a cop is beyond me, probably the same thing that would make you want to go into the collection agency business, but thats their choice not mine. I've talked to some real cool cops, who really don't feel the need to bust peoples balls just for the hell of it. The one guy I talked to said "Yeah, people make mistakes, I'm not here to make them pay for it for there entire life, unless of coarse the crimes is fitting." He went on to talk about an incident involving some drunk guys who beat the shit out of random people just for kicks. He said he was doing everything in his power to keep them in prison for as long as possible. I can respect that. He and other cool cops went on to say they try to be lenient with driving violations/drinking/smoking/etc. Almost every single cool cop said that attitude has a lot to do with how they deal with people. I can respect that also. They also said there are a lot of cops that ruin it for the good cops, cos they really are there to bust peoples balls. They have some kind of issues, where they think they really are better than someone else. In general, I think the cops in my area are decent, there are some bad ones, but what are you going to do right? Also, smoking is illegal. It's kind of silly to bust on cops for doing there job.

I'd like to add, the general attitude that all cops are pigs isn't really any more "enlightened" than "them" calling all of "us" dangerous criminals, etc etc etc. They have their propaganda, lets try to keep our talk sane, and rational, not based on some bad experiences eh?

But then there are these two cops who think they're SUPERCOPS. Trapper was a jerk, just waiting to ruin someones day. Finally, he had so many death threats on his life, they got smart and moved him to a different town. Once there, one of the locals here that said they'd get him did. Beat the crap outta him and put him in the hospital. Then, we got a new female officer, she didn't make it a week. Got fired for contributing to the deliquency of a minor. So now, we are lawless again. Everybody runs around drunk, high, can't go to the bar without getting a pool stick broken over your head. Since I live in the middle of nowhere, it takes a county sherriff like 1-11/2 hours to get here. I think the cops are scared to enforce the law here, too many big wigs making millions of meth. It is like one of those wild west cowboy towns. We are so far behind here.

Cops where I live (Indiana) are DICKS. Well...almost every single one of them. Like, when my mom called the cops on me for smoking weed in the house, the cops that came here were DICKS. My mom knew one of them personally, used to be an old friend, so he just sorta stood there and said he was disappointed. The other two played the good cop bad cop.
The old guy was the good cop, this young guy was the bad cop. Telling me that smokin' the dope leads to brain damage (bad cop said that his friend is now mentally retarded for life for smoking the dope) and it ruins lives. The bad cop said how "I don't wanna piss him off, ya hear me, buddy?" I was like, 'Yeah, okay. Get out my house and be quick about it.' They wrote in the report that I tried to beat up my mom by holding her wrists for 20 seconds saying Calm Down. They tried to get me for possession of marijuana because of the resin in my bowl.

The good cop says, "Well, we can already get you for possession, so you might as well tell us where you got the alcohol." I said, "But, I don't have any weed on me." He said, "Well, ya got the resin here in this pipe." I said, "Okay. I'll just tell the judge."

I only know one cop that's cool, and that's because he's my big brother's friend, he's the ONLY black cop on our force, and he used to have some HUGE smoking sessions when he was in high school. He told me that if he ever caught me doing anything like drinking or smoking weed or whatever, he'd probably just laugh, say hey, then let me get on my way.

So, I think it's justified that I say PIG every time I see a cop car that isn't his.

I live in a small town in Ontario Canada so the cops here are all members of our community. They are decent folks who are keeping the town safe for our kids to grow up in. I respect them for that.
We just had our first officer shot and killed here last year and it has strengthened the ties between our cops and community.
