transplanting soil to hydro

Overgrow FAQ only discusses hydro to soil and soil to soil.

WHat about hydro to soil? Would it hurt a plant at all if it was vegged in soil and flowered in hydro?

You will never get all the dirt out of the root ball and it may pollute your water source. .
