1st timer

Hi,
My plants look like they are struggling a bit.
they are taller and a little 'gangly'. the leaves are very green, the plant looks good, but stretched, not bushy.
i would like to switch to 24/0 to help them develop.
they are currently asleep, will switching on the lights now disturb them? they have been on 16/8 of natural sunlight including (occasional top up with 250V 2700k flowering light 2 hours 3 days a week) this whole time.
I can see my light wasn't sufficient, but i had a weird schedule where i would be away from home most of the week, could not leave light on and didnt have timers.
Why i can switch for 24/0 for only 5 days.
The problem is my parents are coming to visit in 5 days for 3 weeks. They will for sure know its cannabis and for sure see the plants. It will be very awkward for them, but if it's natural light and stuff, they might understand :) if it's lights and foil and indoors, they will think ive gone full retard and never talk to me again. Never go full retard.
SO
CAN I SWITCH TO 24/0 for 5 days and then 3 weeks of daylight and then back to 24/0 after they leave, until it's time to flower?
They are in veg stage, about 10 weeks in. One is auto flowering. they have been mostly in a conservatory, but not the strongest sun.
Thanks for opinions. the threads i have read didn't tell me so much about this kind of thing. they were more pros vs cons of 24/0, but not much about interrupting sleep cycles during veg phase or giving varied light like one day 18/6, next day 16/8, next day 20/4.
Please help- any thoughts welcome !
