Just doing my bit to keep everyone informed.

Collected @ Concentra
Tested @ Clinical Ref Labs
QF 5.7-1 Canada Batch P2DDD-13

No call for over 7 working days = Pass

My method was two pairs of tighties sewn together to create a taint pocket. Also ran the whizz as backup (prevention is cheaper than cure!). 3oz QF took about 2 hours to come up to and hold ~100 degF after being nuked. After the sample (showing slightly over 100) hit the collection jar it dropped to 98 instantly, ~96 by the time it was observed. Whizzinator was a charm too. Checked temp after I left and the whizz was still showing ~99 degF.

Couldn't be easier.

Stay safe.

I'm a little confused. You say that "3 oz QF took about 2 hours to come up to and hold ~100 degrees 'after being nuked'..."

My QF instructions say to simply nuke for :10 seconds, then wrap in the hand warmer.

How did you do this, and what took two hours...after being nuked?

Yes it was nuked. After nuking and crotching, the temp would drop down to ~96. From experience I prefer to walk into the collection site with the bottle right at 100F to account for temp drop into the cup.

What I meant was that after the initial nuke it took a little bit of time to come up to the temp which I like to see it at (100F) from the 94-96 range using only the heating pad and body heat.. I think part of the problem was that I didn't have my testing underwear as tight against my body as I should have and I was a bit rusty.

Did another drop at concentra this week (for testing at Alere) using clean human substitute that when straight from their body into my spare QF bottle. Temp drop for the urine into the bottle took it down to 96 and I threw it in the microwave for 5sec to bring it up just above 100F. It held 100F all the way to the collection facility.

Hope that clarifies my response a bit.

I am using QF at labcorp tomorrow and I'll let everyone know the results but quick question...

I keep hearing "practice" is key to getting this right. Not to be smart, but what is there to practice?

The reason I ask is out of genuine concern that I am missing something here...

Subbing practice drills. You practice heating the sample, stashing it on your person and pouring into the collection cup. When practicing though, dont use the synthetic - use an empty travel-size shampoo bottle filled with warmed water. Use a small plastic throwaway cup for your "collection cup" and a sticky-type baby forehead thermometer (found at most chain pharmacy stores) as your temp strip.

Practicing answers common questions, such as:
"If I heat my sub sample to 98-99 degrees and crotch it, how long will it stay at this temp?"

Tips on heating and stashing the sub can be found in N2's Substitution "sticky" thread. And more are found by utilizing the Forum Search button.

Thanks BT, you have been a wealth of information on this topic and I appreciate that.

I went for my u/a this morning so now the wait begins. I followed the QF instructions exactly and it was at about 94-97 when i poured, but that was based on the temp strip that comes with the bottle of QF. The testing agent (whatever you call 'em) was the only one on duty and she got 4 people in the door right after me so she was in a hurry, the temp reading on the specimen container said around 94 to maybe 96 (she made me set it down on a table to far for me to get an accurate read on the temp). She split the sample without batting an eye at the temp (assume this means I'm in the clear on that regard) and had me initial and date both sample tubes. Then I had finger prints and then I was done.

I'll keep you guys posted on the results but I feel good about it...I think I'm ok. Thought it was funny that they had an sign in the lobby where you can go online to see the results of your u/a....they must have been sick of nervous pot heads calling the office every 5 minutes to see if they passed...lol.

anyone ever get their results from labcorp's web site? I still haven't heard anything back but its only Monday and I tested Friday.

Still hate the wait.

After repeatedly checking online for my results and not seeing them, I called the Medical Review Office (separate company from labcorp) to inquire about the results. After confirming my name, specimen # and last 4 of my social; they said that the doctor "didn't note any concerns" on my u/a and reported the findings to my potential employer on the 11th of May. Based on that I'd say I passed. I sure as hell won't be doing any further digging into the matter as I am an fine upstanding and drug free responsible god-fe...you get it.

Passed. That was EASY. If you use quickfix and you keep the temp right (which was easy to do) you should be good to go.
