I guess I started flowering to late, one of my plants was about a foot tall mayble couple inches bigger when I induced flowering....now its 6 1/2 feet tall. My ceiling is 8 feet tall and im worried that its gonna outgrow its space. I cant really move the light any higher and it wont stop growing and it has loads of bud sites. Ill post some pictures later as its in its dark cycle right now. My question is, can you do the low stress training when im already midwayish into flowering? What are some other alternatives I could do to help? I changed nutes this week and didn't add any grow formula to the mix only bloom and micro, will that help? The other plant is maybe half its size and both plants were topped/fimmed. The smaller one actually has 2 branches where I did it so assuming that one was topped.....the other one still seems to have a main cola and thats the plant with what appears to be over 10 budsites...I know probably doesnt help right now not having pictures but will post some later tonight, thanks!!!

Also the main stem on the biggest plant is pretty thick, ive looked at videos of people lsting and their branches seem kind of flimsy so they seem to bend easier....im afraid if I try to bend it, it will snap.

you definitely lst it now. just dont try to get it to bend to where you want all at once. move the parts you want to bend down a little every day.

Had the same problem with 2 of my snoop dog power kushes 2 weeks ago...took a piece of felt wrapped it around the stem approx. 1/3 the way down tied string around the felt, drilled a hole in the top of my bucket and slowly pulled the plant over....every 2 days untie and gradually bend the plant a little more until you get it where you want it ...just be gentle you won't break it...I've done this many times.

Agree with tie down, go easy. Still thinking about 14in to 6&1/2 feet in bloom cycle. How much time did it take?

I got mine where I wanted them in the second bend ...I do the same thing in outdoor grow using tent stakes to avoid detection by the cop-ters when I'm done bending they're horizontal...just be GENTLE you might have yours where you want them in the second bend...when you gently pull on the string assist the plant with your hand I've been doing this for 30 yrs. haven't broke a plant yet.

Thx guys for replies so far, ill post some pictures in a hour when the lights come on. With this being my first grow was worried I would break it. And I would also like to know how/why it went from 12-14 inches to 6 1/2 feet. Im about 5 10 and its nearly a foot taller then me. Im guessing sativa but still that seems insane. I have been budding it for probably a month to a month and a half now (2 months at most), I should have kept track but the bud sites are seeming to grow more and more everyday now, im curious to when the actual buds will start forming? I am seeing a lot of hairs and the leaf development seems to have stopped for the most part, just doesn't look like buds to me yet then again being my first grow not sure exactly how it should/will look. How long do sativas generally take to bud/finish? Im using some bag seeds I found in some supposedly OG Kush I found back when I was buying. Found maybe 1 or 2 seeds every like 10-15 bags of half oz I would buy were rare but saved them when I gotem. Once I get everything down and know what im doing ill look online to buy my seeds, and will look for strains that dont get so tall heh.

given enough time, space and light sativas can get huge. when i used to grow outdoors they could easily get to 9-10 feet. they do get pretty ratty down lower tho. the flower time can be pretty long on sativa also

Yea it seems the lower part of the plant doesnt look as good as the top, but since adding more lights it has took way off. I was using a 400watt hps then switched to a 432 watt led then about 2 weeks in threw 8 CFLs for blooming (they are the 2700k ones, soft/warm light) in the mix and it has worked awesome. I have noticed a lot better and faster growth since switching to the LED's and plus ofcourse it helped with electricity and heat issues. Also since adding the CFL's I have noticed the other lower branches producing bud sites that werent there at first, guess the extra light is paying off, hoping to get a decent yield for my first time, which if all goes well till they finish I think I should.......what do yall think? Here are some pix. As you see both were same height and budded at same time.....the other was maybe 2-3 inches shorter if that, and see the difference? I figured I did bud them on time, just wasnt expecting that one on the right to get so massive so quick lol.

Wanted to add, these were the pictures of the plants when I started the 12/12 cycle, originally had 6 but only 2 were female (think I may of pulled a 3rd to early wasnt sure but wanted to be safe) The one in the bucket in this picture is the one on the left.....the one in the plastic tote in the front right was the one now by itself on the right.

its been budding about 1 month and half? some sativas can go 80 days so you could have another month or so maybe. this is where you need to start watching it fill in and keeping an eye on the trichs.
just try to give it the best lighting you can so it doesnt get all wispy.

Agree with mal420 sativa can go a long time. Adding extra lights as you went may help explain grow pattern, and did help grow apparently

Plants are much more flexible when they are dried out. Just like the celery in the refrigerator, when they dry out they bend easily, when they are fresh and full of water they snap. LST when they need watering. Got it?
Neville's Haze ( my fav sativa) goes for 14 weeks (98 days) and some phenos can go for 20-24 weeks, endlessly it seems.

Some of the hairs on my bigger plant seem to be turning a orange/brownish color is this normal? Most are white still but seems some are the lower part of the plant to the middleish are turning.

this is normal, the plant is maturing, she should start swelling up soon so start keeping an eye on the trichs, u might find she is still producing white hairs even at the very end but 9 times out of ten its like 80% orange 20% white- dont use this as a guide to pick, its still all about the trichs, nice set up btw im running into height issues too so keen to see your results with led, never seen a decent crop or plant thru led's so good luck bro im looking forward to seeing how this goes

Ok question....my step dads nephew is coming out tomaro to install a whole brand new ac system, 10 grand system for 3500 good deal. While hes redoing my duct work I was going to have him run a extra duct to my closet (grow room) to help keep it cool easier since its heating up in my area, and without having to have noisy fans running that you can hear on the outside. He even spotted that before I told him when he cut the breaker to my air and could hear the air blowing heh. Usually I have the air running to mask the sound but with new unit my ac wont be running nonstop like my old one so wont have it to cover the sound. But my question is, he will be here at 9am, my lights go off at 10am.....it will take him 4-5 hours to do the whole system but will it hurt if a very small scale of light hits my plants? If he has to cut a hole and run the ducting he will need light to do so in my grow room, and some light could leak in from under the house when there is a hole there while hes installing the duct......what effects would this have on my plants if they are exposed to light for 30mins to a hour tops during lights out period? I could see if he could possibly handle that part first to get it done asap so it would probably delay my normal lights out cycle by a hour....will this have any major effects on my budding plants? Was also thinking maybe I could just have him run the duct that way a very small amount of light would get in the room and cut the hole up top myself when the lights come back on, or maybe try to hang something in front of my plants to keep it dark since he will be installing it at the entrance of the closet....sorry im panicing dont want to mess my plants up but need to have him do it while hes doing the rest. Anyways worse thing that can happen to my plants if delayed by a hour? Thanks!!!

put a box over the area he has to cut out for the duct.

Your a genius why didn't I think of that lol....thanks man. Guess he should beable to cut the hole from the bottom instead of going in the room itself. And I can install the vent cover myself later on when the lights go on, good thing I read this was actually about to burn 3 boxes to get rid of them as im cleaning my house right now and going through stuff heh.

So my old weed guy I use to buy from calls me out of the blue....I think he misses my business because I was spending like 200 every 3 days heh.. Anyways ive always had a feeling he grew his own because sometimes it wouldnt be fully cured, well he calls me and says he has 15 plants and only has room for 5 and that the others are ready to go and he will sell them to me at 20 a pop. Says they are all female. Is there a way to tell if they are clones? I don't think hes going to come right out and tell me he grows, he only asked me because I had asked him for some seeds a while back im guessing. But I have a feeling that since he isnt making money off me buying bud now, he is cutting clones and wanting to sell them to me to make money heh. Anyways just want to know if there is anyway to tell if they are clones, and does 15-20 a pop per plant seem like a good price for female plants?

So hes installing the ac duct in my grow room now he had to go inside. ..my lights went off a hour and a half ago and hes usin a led flashlight in there now.....he use to grow and told me 15-20 mins of light wont hurt them.....but want more opinions? Not like I have much of a choice now anyhow....will anything super bad happen to my plants??? Im worried bad =/

naw, nothing super bad will happen. I sometimes go into my room during lights off, I don't use a flashlight, just use the reflected light from another room, but the result is about the same, it can stress the plants. I stressed one so bad once that I actually had to start over on week 1 of flower, this shouldn't be the case in your situation, just watch out for 'nanners' and peel them off if need be.
As far as $20 for clones, it looks like your doing pretty well already in a decently packed room - You sure you got space for 5 more? if you do, $100 for 5 clones isn't bad, but considering I can pull 1000 clones from a $6 seed... well (I'll let you do the math)
Up to you, but if you got room for it, and the spare cash, why not.

Judging by your concern for your girls, I'm guessing all will be fine.
Also 15-20 a for female of genetics you like-sound ok. Say that mainly mainly because I don't think it will be long till we hear of xxxsmoke by GrandRefa, and having your own clones

Thx for the replies and imma grab 2 or 3 and keep one as a mother so I can clone it myself. ....and could 30 mins really cause nanners? Im worried even more now

They werent clones but were babies.....got a ak 48....white widow and candy kush. Think imma keep them all as mothers and clone since I do hydro and their in soil already....think that may be my best bet. Other plantd are probably to far into flowering to take clones anyhow and not sure on strains of them.

Chill, your fine.
I'd like to see the candy kush develop and get a smoke report when your done. I've been looking into alot of the kush genetics and I'm choosing what phenos to put into my next strain, So far I'm looking at 6 or 7 generations before I'm stable, I don't mind adding another generation or two if the candy kush has something decent to add. Especially if its a 'sweet' strain, I've got 3 citrus and 2 sweets so far planned, another sweet would be nice.
