Hi y'all... I have a young plant that I started from seed only two weeks ago. Everything seemed to be going fine, but as my little lady started producing it's first few leaves, I noticed some small yellow dots, slightly curled edges and discoloration on those leaves. SEE THE ATTACHED PHOTOS.
Some Background:
- Using a hydro setup (Bucketeer DWC System - Stealth Hydroponics, Inc - $4.99 Shipping! - Hydroponics Systems and Supplies, plant lighting, Aeroponics, grow room, hydroponics shops, grow tent, hydroponics kit, grow kits, buddinghouse > Deep Water Culture (http://www.stealthhydroponics.com/section.php?xSec=61&xPage=1))
- perfectly controlled environment (temp at 75f, and humidity at 60%)
- Clean indoor setup with no bugs or mold
- I've been checking PH and it seems to be at around 5.75 to 6.0, just using test strips.
- Used basic tap water that I ran through a "ceramic style" filter (this one... Big Berkey Water Filters | Travel Berkey Water Filter (http://www.bigberkeywaterfilters.com/berkey-water-filters/berkey-filter-systems/travel-berkey.html))
- no added nutrients yet (I figured I'd wait until week 3 or 4 before starting that)
- using CFL 6500k "grow" light bulbs, and they are set approx 12" away from top of plant
So far, the only thing I can think of is that maybe when I filtered the tap water, the filter removed some of the much needed minerals. Or, maybe I should have started adding nutrients to the water already... I was worried about adding nutrient to soon as the plant is only 3.5 inch tall.
I'll admit, this is my first grow... so I'm still learning.
Any thoughts? Suggestions?
Thanks!!
