Hard to give pragmatic advice.
Always been easy for me.

Then got burned for my medical budget.
I whined a little bit on the forums.

Found out I had more friends than I deserve.
One of our members insisted on gifting me meds until I could pull another harvest.

We had not met, yet he committed several felonies on my behalf!
That's why I no mention names, but he knows who he is.
Damn fine person, that's who!
Seems the world is full of them.

As for your immediate distress, I hope you are fortunate enough to just want vs. need da weed.
For recreational use, it's a good thing to quit every now and then.
It lowers ones tolerance and increases ones pleasure.

So.
I'd go visit all the friends that you turn on when you have some.
One of them has got to have some "deepstash" to share.
Dig out the seeds n stems and run 'em over a screen on mo' time.

Make a cardboard sign that says "Will trim for scissor hash".
Then camp out in front of the Hydro store.:D

For a medical need, document it.

Then, get in a car if you must, and get a rec. in a medical state.
Then, off to the dispensary.
(Didn't say it's cheap, or easy) :)

I'd just go find some weed is pretty easy to find. All the weed around here is bunk ass shit though. But I can easily find some. I used to have to go spend a whole day looking 4 it when I was younger and would go to a new town you just have to approach random people , girls are the easiest way to meet new people, meet the girls then thier friends then smoke their friends stinky buddha.

I'm in the same boat. I decided to take a break from smoking about 3 & 1/2 months ago. After 2 or 3 weeks I was ready to start back, but I found out that my dealer had moved. I haven't smoked since then. Of my two smoke buddies, one had quit for good and the other had made his way to east South Carolina, so I was, and still am, shit outta luck. I know how you feel!

I would love to start growing, but it's kind of overwhelming at first glance. At least to me!

I'm completely open to the idea, as I'm sure it would save loads of cash. Should I just begin reading in the forums here at cannabis.com to get started?

Right now I'm just going crazy due to the fact that it's been almost 4 months since I've smoked. Oh, what I would give for just a bowl right about now... :rasta:

Thanks for the post, painretreat! I don't mind taking the time to search for info here as long as I know it's here. New years is approaching quickly and this will be the first year for quite a few years that I've not smoked. :-(

I'm one of those unfortunate people who doesn't live in, or close to, a medical MJ state. No hydro stores nearby. Bible belt state. Bad growing climate. Does it get any worse??

And if that's not bad enough ... street crap is 15 per g at the moment.

No wonder I'm about to start a grow! I may go without awhile longer, but I see a really, really bright light at the end of this tunnel.
