I'm sure the title of this isn't exactly the best way to state this question, but oh well. I was honestly wondering if it is possible for you body to get used to having thc in its system? Not quite sure the best way to say it. But I swear I was under the weather yesterday because I didn't have any bud. First, let me fill you in on a couple things. I smoke A LOT. I wake up, smoke like two bowls to get an appetite, and start my day. Throught the day when my back starts to throb or I start feeling anxious, I smoke joints. It usually amounts to around an eigth (or usually more) a day. Well yesterday I woke up to an empty baggie :( so I didn't feel like eating breakfast. Then I started feeling tired and my back pain set in, however, .I refused to take the vicodin in my cabinet. A few hours later, my stomach started to hurt and turn, and .it continued throughout my whole day. Feeling Hot and cold, and sweating a couple times. I didn't feel better untill I got my bud. Can the symptoms I was having possibly be my body reacting to my sudden change in routine and lack of thc? Or is it all in my head?? ;)

Howzit, PGS?

I've never had any physical withdrawal symptoms from M.J.
(Had very serious symptoms when I quit tobacco).
I suggest it may have been a random rhinovirus coincidental to your abstinence.
Not surprised that da bud made you feel mo' betta either. :)

Aloha,

Thx weez but I quit smoking cigs cold turkey over a year ago. It's tempting though when I don't have bud, but that's not very often. Not sure what the deal was; was just curious to see if anybody else has had this experience...

Aloha, yeah, I think Weez might be right sounds like your coming down with something, probably just coincidence. I just started a break too about two weeks ago so I'll let you know how I do. I've never had physical withdrawals but you can get used to do something and it makes it hard to quit at first but usually after a week or so I don't even think about. I miss that warm and fuzzy feeling I get after puffing but soon that comes back naturally too. good luck.

Sounds to me more like your side effects are coming back that the cannabis use to take care of.
I don't believe in cannabis withdrawal symptoms though there are a sort of withdrawal from anything that you like to do. I love having one cup of coffee in the morning. If for some reason I don't get one I tend to be mopey and slower to get going. If you like having cheese burgers and then you can't have any any more it makes you sad. All things are habit forming if they make you feel good. Its always a question of moderation.

Hey there PGS, Your symptoms could be from everything said! I would totally lean toward your pain causing the symptoms. If you have good pain control and suddenly forget to medicate-it does cause those symptoms. Major ass side effects of uncontrolled pain are exactly what you described! :(! Just like a flu! Have dealt with it a long time and easy to recognize. Particular in others, as my pain is fairly well managed with very little, these days-thanks to mmj!

Even though I do not feel this is the case with you. Some people have 'withdrawal' from mj or anything they take. I do not think you stopped medicating long enough to have any symptoms of withdrawal. I met a young man a couple of years ago and he quit, for a job interview! He was not in any pain, but very much on edge, pale and nervous.

For most pain medications, we have another chemical to counter-act it! Pain is like a medication of 'counteraction'-you gotta have your:rastasmoke: ! That other stuff has too much OTC med in it that will harm your body!

It is never good to suddenly quit any medication. Not even coffee! Even though it doesn't hurt us to stop drinking coffee (as said) you do have withdrawal. I quit drinking coffee for about 20 years and started drinking again last winter. I can hardly get out of bed and do anything until I have my coffee. The past 2 mornings, I was real lucky, my brother-in-law gave it to me in bed. My sister doesn't drink it and he likes feeling needed! And I cannot get anything done without it! I cannot drink coffee after 12P.M. or it keeps me awake all night! I can definitely feel when it leaves my body, a little bit of 'pulsating.'

Perhaps you should keep some hard candy on hand for an emergency, or call a pal! pr

PGS, are you still on break? how are you feeling now? I quit about a week or so ago and am also feeling like shit. depressed, anxious, can't hardly get out of bed in the morning no appitite, it sux. I would start back up and see if it goes away but my lungs are just saying no f'n way. I'm going to stick with it and see if it gets better, it usually does but the first week or so for me really suck. I was also a wake and baker all day tripper so its probably more pronounced for me that the average puffer. how are you doing? I think I'm going to go for a run today and drink a bunch of water and see if that helps. I've also heard melitonin supplements can help. might give them a shot, too. oh, yeah, and dreams did come back with a vengence, too. one of them was REALLY awesome.

I can't really say if these are withdrawals or just a retrurn of the symptoms I have been treating with cannabis. hopefully they go away on their own soon.

Lol no I'm not taking a break anymore. But I.have introduced daily.cardiovascular into my routine. When you work out like that, you brain releases a natural chemical antidepressant. How did your run go? Hopefully I will be running in no time (I'm a long way from the.marathon I ran 4 years ago) I did very much look farward that part of the day. But being lazy for so long, I can barely catch my breath. But I'm working on it ;)

Yeah Boaz, I take that other herb before bedtime, as well. It does work and comes in many different strengths. Exercise, raises your body heat and it returns to bed-time temp. for 4 hours. Which is why it is better to exercise in the A.M.: And why don't do as much exercise in A.M. as I should-just a slow starter here! Plus, exercise helps elevate your mood. A moring without any mmj jay is like a day without sunshine! Stopping for awhile will lower the dose you need and always good to take a "Holiday" (as we call it) from most medication (unless it is bi-polar or schiz. meds).

For some odd reason I've had unusual congestion with the recent bud I bought and am now inclined to make it into medibles. After a break from token, my medibles are much better. I think the recent mmj purchase was cured to fast, a bit too harsh for me! Hope it will be better in medible? You think? pr

well .. didn't quite make the run as planned, took a nap instead, lol. tommorrow, tho. I like to work out in the mornings too before breakfast so I'm just burning fat and not the food. I really wish we had decent medibles here, that would be the solution. guess I can make my own, but the weed is pretty crappy. should grow my own but I've kinda lost my nerve lately, its a big time bust here, 2 years to life! I need to the hell out of here and get back to cali... until then guess I'll stick with it and try to get back in shape, I'm pretty lazy these days.

Try to steer clear of energy drinks too, there horrible for ya! I tried those to try and bring me "up", turned my poor sensitive stomach, lol and made my heart like skip a beat. I asked my doctor about it and she said it was all those chemicals that my body wasn't used to ( I never really drink energy drinks, cuz ima naturally bubly person...) Needless to say, no more energy drinks for me. And I might get addicted to coffee so I don't even want to start. ;) lol

Gee Boaz, 2 years to life--really is bad! Wouldn't beat myself up for not exercising while reducing the dose of medication! I admire that! Oddly, now that the mmj is lower in price, etc. I am either getting better or just don't think about it much (cause I spend too much time here, which is a retreat from pain for me. Not thinking about it (pain)don't feel it so much-but am much better these days). Except for days like the past two. When the weather changes from warm to cold-I'z get to hurting a bit and only think of the herb. And you find me here at 3 A.M. Just too cold to go outside for me.

I really don't like to toke in the A.M, which is why I love the brownie. After that, depends on how I feel. Or the weather. Since, I go outside to toke. I know all the neighbors can smell it, cause I can smell theirs! I make some pretty decent edibles! Would rather bake (in the oven or cook on stove) than grow. Always something!

PGS, that coffee is a good anti-oxidant, you may want to try it instead, not so much caffeine in it as the energy drinks! I am not one for an energy drink, in fact, haven't even tried one! Unless you consider Poweraid or Gator... one. I do not. I simply think of them as 'electrolyte' replacement when not feeling well or working outside in the elements. Makes a big difference in how I feel. As I age, I certainly do not tolerate severe temp. of any kind or working outside in it! If I forget the drink, I don't feel very well after a day of working in the garden. Usually powerade in winter and gator in summer (later has more sodium and feel it is needed more in severe heat). Just replacing body's deficency.

It was suppose to rain, "a little bit" 1/2 inch here today. Past 2 hours-I'd say 2" at least. Good day for staying in and making home-made potato soup! Wanted to put some mmj in it, but would ruin the taste for others that would eat it! :( So, using the patio for a while! As I bake and cook, I just wonder how it would be so much better with mj in it. Thinking of cooking up some mmj in the butter to baste the big bird Thursday. But, only about 4 of us could partake and then-the little one, can't give it to her! Thinking on warming up the butter in a small crock pot with the pot for about 12 or so hours prior to using. Perhaps, I ought to cut the bird in half or quarter out a section for the 4 medical users?

I am an indoor exerciser. I prefer good cardiovascular. A nice stationary bike in front of the T.V. Running, here in the smoke, seems counter-productive to me! I know many will think, And you Toke? Yep, cause I have read the medical facts and it ain't like tobacco (which I am allergic to anyway). I try to exercise at least 5-6 hours prior to bedtime and take a long walk in the evening! I am no morning person and never have been! dunno why, just learnz to live with it. I can be influenced, though! Especially when it comes to fishing, I am the first one up! I do have my priorities!:rasta: pr

Oh my goodness get out of my head pr, you'll never guess what I made for dinner last night.... homade potatoe soup! I make mine with small ham chunks too. Mmm,mmmm. Yup, I think I might try coffee tomorrow morning (finally got a job...ugh.) gotta be up at 6 am. Might just hop on my platstation 3 and play mw3 all night and just not sleep. I know that's bad for my body, but its like hypnotism; I just can't stop playing....
Antioxidant? What exactly does that mean? (Don't laugh,) but last few times I tried coffee, it made me have to go #2, it that normal? (Sorry if that's weird, I was just curious. It shouldn't make anyone uncomfortable, cuz everybody poops.)

The only withdrawal effect I consistently experience when cutting back or teaking break is that my sleep isnt as good as when I am smoking regularly.
I generally find I sleep a lot less long and my dreams can be more disturbing/vivid for a few days after.

Also my appetite is definitely not as great.
But apart from that, nothing much.

Hey there PGS, yep, I also made some last night, as well! Cold here and have been getting over an allergic bronchitis~with the cold weather, just cannot resist homemade hot soup. I am thinking Chicken soup tomorrow! I should have used ham, but used some already cook real bacon bits!

Anti-oxidants help in keeping your body free of carcinogens (In a very short way to say it). Hot water would have the same effect in the A.M. with your bowels. Hot Coffee, same thing, ain't the coffee though, its da heat! I quit drinking coffee for 20 years and don't know how I ever did it. I am into Latte or Expresso now. I like a nice bold brew! No sugar! Accidently picked up "French Roast" last Jan. and it seemed a bit strong. But, bought a huge can of it. Not gonna take it back, so kept drinking it. I love it now and don't know how I could ever drink a 'mild' brew! It packs a caffiene jolt too! Past summer it seemed I found out, a good friend of mine really loves the 'Bold" flavor, as well. Made a great cup of coffee! Seems to get my day going on the right foot! Certainly, more alert!

Many foods are natural anti-oxidants: Blueberrys, brocoholi, cinnamon, several others, just not thinking of um right now. Strawberry! Guess, veges and fruit mostly. Oh, and dark chocolate! Of course, can't forget that. All in moderation! So, your body lives healthy, as long as your mind. Omega 3's for your brain-fish! Helps combat dementia/Alzheimers! Good broad spectrum Omega is Flaxseed supplements! Start young on 'um! U wanna keep your mind active as long as your body!

PS3: well, I am a Wii one. But, prefer some pop cap games on my laptop. The games are astonishing these days!

Well, hope the job isn't too time consuming. Good luck in it! I am not sure about staying up all night. Hard for me anymore. But, did it all the time when I was younger. My work was very interesting and didn't have time to think about sleep of lack of it. If we had had PS3 then, I doubt I would have worked as much, though! Good luck in your new job tomorrow!

Hope it is in a nursery! pr

Hey b-t, I find the same thing. I use my mmj mostly to help me sleep, lately! One hit and I am usually out. Just too cold to go outside to toke late at night, lately!

I seem to have more vivid dreams with my mmj! Anyone else? Would be interesting to hear! pr

oh boy am I hungry for some potato soup now..;) should have went running the first day I thought of it, it was about 70 degrees and sunny then, not anymore... yeah, my dreams have definately came back are very vivid. I think I had my first bit of a lucid dream last night but it was really scary, I was having this really bad nightmare and thought to myself, man these movies now a days are really bad then I realized it was a dream. most of the times they are just bizzare like I'm trying to figure out something really complicated or something.. strange. but a couple of night ago had the awesome dream about this girl I work with. :smokin: second time I've dream about her, hmmmm.

Lol don't tell her ur dreaming of her, u might creep her out... Lol. Didn't smoke al all yesterday, went to bed and dreamt I.was running. I.was running from someone bad and I was running with all my might and wasn't getting anywhere. I tried taking wider strides, still wasn't making progress. Ugh! Weird. When I was younger, i used to have night terrors. Id be screaming and crying, my mom would wake me up, and I wouldn't remember a thing. I wonder if they would come back if I quit weed complety? Also had no appetite this morning. Forgot the coffee, didn't really need it cuz I stayed up till six am, and I've been up since; but I'm feeling it now. I need to try and wait till like ten to pass out though. Otherwise ill be sleep all the rest of the day, and be up all night bored. I need to fix my internal clock...lol ;) I wish I could go for a run, but its so cold. 70 degrees sounds lovely, a lot better than 34 degrees...

:thumbsup:Hey Boaz, I sometimes think it is better to make the potato soup from scratch and quicker than a mix, almost. You simply take one or two toes and simply clean or peel (personal preference) and place in microwave to cook. While frying bacon and onion together-you can skip that if you don't like or want them. Then heating up milk or water (or mixture to your liking) while potato is in microwave. Then cut up potato in chunks you like and warm up (low heat-as milk will burn easily) and toss potato in. Heat to as you like to boil and consistancy! I usually just toss in the raw onion (not a lot-or it will be onion soup, which is not bad either) and some bacon bits of real bacon (Hormel) or whatever Costco, Sam's or Smart and Final sells. Or toss in ham as PGS does. It gets easier with practice. less time on stove less milk will burn. Add salt and pepper to taste (I leave out salt-but most love salt (use Sea Salt lately-less sodium and big taste), I simply believe too much salt is in potato when growing). Never comes out bad. If it is only you, might toss in a bit of mmj. But, I will get my mmj regardless (since I have to share the soup and not the herb, I do not put it in and can't do anyone a favor with medible).

Our dreams are how we work out our problems of the day and life! PGS, if you had them in your childhood-there is unresolved problems there. I feel we have to work out our childhood in order to grow as an adult. Doesn't mean we completely resolve our childhood issues, we just learn not to let it interfere with us as adults, by being more aware! A huge pill to swallow! I had nightmares as a child, the same shitty one for decades until I was able to put it to rest by surrounding myself with loving and caring people as an adult. Oddly, I was 30 and had that same nightmare (the first time in, at least 9 years) I was having the nightmare when the phone rang to tell me my Dad dropped dead! Since, he died, it has never come back. He was a violent domestic terrorist!

I had a very nice dream last night. It was in COLOR, as most dreams are not! I woke up thinking, I need to remember that to share with you all. Now, later in the day, all I recall is: It was in color! Knowing that is significant! duh, just can't remember though! Guess, I worked out another problem I was not very aware of.

To have a dream of someone in particular, you generally have to have a freq. (extremely good) or very difficult relationship with! However, I must admit, when I first started using mmj freq. I had a dream of going fishing with George #1 and Barbara Bush! Now, I would say, my freq. and best relationship was with the Fish not the Shrubs:whalephant:! And I do have an affinity for great fishing!

When I am doing mostly medibles (as of late, cause too cold outside at night) I seem to have much more vivid dreams! Seldom in color, so I am saying my dose must be low at this point (a bit of withdrawal). Maybe that is why my dream is in color. Since, I don't do "Dungeons and Dragons" or violent type of games, my withdrawal dreams are very pleasant. I am sure last night must have been Deep Sea Fishing or something equilivant. As, you really catch big fish in the ocean! And I am inclined to think it was charactures (cartoonist) instead of real people. As, I've been watching "Guppytales" or something like that with my Great Niece (5 yr. old)-that must be the cartoon part of the dream. Oddly, her mom trusts me with her, even though she called the local police on me for my mmj (cop just said goodmorning, saw I was not in any altered state and wished me a good day and left). Because my niece knows, I believe the 5 yr. old needs some mmj instead of all the OTC my niece shoves down her or no meds would be better. But, that is another thread, somewhere.

I like my chili from scratch (pretty much all food), make a bunch and freeze a bit! I love the aroma in the house during cold days stuck at home. And now, that I think a bit more about it. Why stress myself out with withdrawal of an herb, anyway. Guess, it is all I think about, that would do it. I recall while I was working, often when it seemed others were over-reacting to stressful situations by temper tandrums, I could only VISUALIZE :S5::s3::smokebong::eat: When I got home from work. And then I would :sadcrying if I ended up being 'on call' and couldn't! Thank God, those daz are over! Every day is a holiday and
Anyone dream in color! While reducing (withdrawal) of mmj or while using healthy dose?

Hey DUTCH is it soup yet? pr

well put. people react in different ways though, i knew this kid in school who would flip out and want fight with even one small hit. most people however with regards to mj, experience pattern recognition behavior symptoms. bummer i usually feel better when i do this...kind of thing. or, the mj was masking the discomfort of something else.
