i believe it was kerry who cried about our troops not having the right equipment, but the same week, voted against the 50 billion dollars in funding for the troops?

You and who? Or do you mean Bush?

amsterdam
05-03-2005, 01:47 PM
do you think bush alone makes the choice??you know we have a military right?

it will be when the iraqis say.not long though.we will always have some troops there.i would say 30 years.

I thought you just said 'When we decide'? What?

And isn't Bush the head of the government. The government commands the military, no?

Also, sources?

Cheers.

amsterdam
05-03-2005, 01:58 PM
sources for what?

the military is on the ground and W listens to what they see, then condi, cheney and all the rest decide what to do.

Button Basher
05-03-2005, 02:16 PM
Sources man. Sources for the story, sources that back up your claims, otherwise I have no reason to believe any of it.

So it's not really up to Iraq, it's up to Condi, Cheney and "all the rest"?

My opinion on the war on Iraq stands. If we assume just for the hell of it that USA went in to give the Iraqi people a working democracy, it still doesn't mean that the methods used were right. The people of Iraq should've revolted and the rest of the world should've supported them. Now it's just imperialism all over again. And I tell you, it'll take decades and several attempted - or maybe succesful - revolutions before the situation stabilizes and we can seriously start talking about a democratic Iraq. In the mean time US has drained the oil fields and Iraq will be nothing more than a 3rd world country then. Or maybe not. Who the fuck knows, but the truth is that the revolution started from the wrong end of the chain and for fucked up reasons.

the iraqis did revolt after the first iraq war and saddam used chemical weapons against them killing thousands.

you do know that the iraqis are producing more oil than they were before the war?

how much is the gas where you live?all that oil sure isnt doing much is it?

all that decades talk is what the dems have been screaming for the past year.well its been three years and so far so good.i agree that the WMD plan was a blunder, they should have just showed that al queda had atraining camp north of baghdad(zarqawi after being shot in afghanistan fled here to get medical help).the people would have been all over it.

i just find it wierd that so many people think we are losing this war in america whereas on the ground in iraq we are winning.besides the occasional set back, things have4 gone better than most people thought and will continue to get better

look at who the terrorists are attacking these days, the new iraqi govt.why?because day by day they are getting more power anbd they pose a huge threat to the terrorists.total defeat.

they had better pray that they are captured or killed before we leave.iraqi justice is gonna be WAY more brutal than ours.

Wicked, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! High-five.

So when are the troops leaving again?

It's not completely up to Bush or Blair how long we will be in Iraq. If the Iraqi Gov. stated today that they wanted full withdrawal of ALL foriegn troops we would be leaving. If either Bush or Blair decided to get out they would pull their troops. At this point we are in Iraq under the request of the NEW government to try to help with the insurgency, training, and reconstuction efforts. Here is a projection put across by Iraqi national security adviser Mowaffak Al-Rubaie.

The US backed goverment is a joke , the attacks continue because their are people in Iraq who don't see things the same way the west does. The liberation forces are seen as an occupation force , I know I wouldn't be too happy if a bunch of foriegners came telling me what to do in my own country.
For Britain and the US this could be a very long drawn out process and in the meantime more troops die and nothing improves.
The war was never about liberating Iraq and all about the spread of western greed, (I wonder when Iraq will open the doors for more US crap like McDonalds and KFC)

Yipper, the reason for the invasion was to get a Micky D's and KFC into Iraq. Imagine if we could persuade them to get the Midas touch...MY GOD the revenue!!!!

Most of the insurgents are actually foreign nationals. Iraq will be a much better country in time thanks to the US.

a quote from JFK.the last of the real democrats.god what happened to that party?

you guys said the same things before the iraq election,"it isnt safe enough,it will never happen blah, blah, blah)and more people voted under mortar fire than voted in the US in the rain.when we leave iraq they will prosper and take care of their own security.the iraqis are a strong and brave people.

The Iraqis are a deaply divided people.

who seem to be coming together to shape their country.as i have said before, people said the EXACT same thing before the election.its to bad not many people believe in the iraqi people.i do.i know they will prevail.everyone should watch,as the country gets on its feet more and more countries are gonna want to get involved to make some money.people and countries who were against helping that country are gonna try to pretend they were involved in their freedom when they werent.IT IS GONNA BE FUNNY.

:D
