My question for you guys in what is the best way for storage of buds and how long will they stay fresh?

I have used "kerr" glass jars and also just tried the vacuum seal machine / bags. The vacuum seal squeezed the shit out of my buds :(

What do you guys have good luck with and how long will it stay fresh?

Once you get to say 59% RHâ?¦.should keep for a very long timeâ?¦..I do trust glass jars more than plastic.

Itâ??s a long read, but worth it!

Hope that helps,

Ball glass canning jars, pick the size that suits you.

Thanks, I like the hygrometer idea. I that way you know exactly when its time to store them. Appreciate the good article/read :)

Yep I would agree and have used before but I think my first go I did not cure them long enough and had mold issue. I will get the meter to check RH and know when its time to store them in the jars.

Got about 4 weeks to go on this second grow.

no need for a meter....never have had one and never any mold in my jars in 26years of storing bud in "glass"

rule of thumb when destemming your bud for storage...the stem should snap but not completely break off....at that point trim and put in paper bag for 2-3 days then into the jars and always store in a dark place

Lots of people use mason jars. Cant go wrong with those.

I use a food safe plastic box with quick release lids. They were purchased at a store that deals in "Containers." Purchased for about 6 bucks each and they are at least as big as a shoe box. They were designed for fruits and vegetables I believe for use in the frig.

For curing: I hung each kola on a string and dangled in the garage with a small fan from Wal-Mart blowing on them. Did that for about 10 days and then right into the box. Sadly I had a slight mold issue on one kola so it went into its own box but even with those mold spores already in the box there were no further issues with mold so the boxes work flawlessly.

Thanks stra8outtaWeed and Prodaytrader, good info. :)

Based on what I have now read I can tell the mistake I made on my first grow was I did not let them cure long enough which resulted in some mold on my buds in some of my glass jars. I guess I was just worried they were going to get too dry so I must have put them in the jars too early and that is what caused the mold.
