Ok, so I've been reading that if you need to do some maintenance in your flowering room during the 12 hours of darkness, you can use a green light and the photoperiod won't be disturbed. My question is; does this have to be a special green light or is this something that can be home made, like painting a standard bulb green? Maybe one of those decorative green bulbs you get from Home Depot or other like stores? Thanks

I've visited a dispensary grow right before lights out,.... and as soon as the lights shut off they turned on a bunch of green CFL's (home depot) They claim they haven't had a problem even keeping the green lights on for hours after the HID's went off.
Personally I use a "Green Lantern" LED headlamp for maintaining my girls during night time, but I suppose if your grow is big enough some overhead lighting would almost be needed.
