Hi All,

I was reading sugestions earlier about cleaning your pipes and bongs...

Most of what I read sugested pipecleaners for one hitters... but this is better.

Bobby Pins work great. I'm pretty creative when it comes to cleaning pipes to produce a smokable gooey mess. Go to any drug store or wal mart or anything and get the extra big bobby pins. I even take a little grinder and grind down one of the edges to it's nice and sharp. It scrapes down to the metal without scratching ur pipe. They also work great on clogs.

HAPPY 420!

Good idea. I didn't see the thread to which you are referring, but I prefer a chemical process over a mechanical one (scraping). Bottles of rubbing alcohol cost about a quarter- soak them a cup of it until the alcohol turns black, then dump it and add new alcohol. This time, it won;t turn as dark. When you take out your piece, IF there is ANY residue even left on it at this point, a pipe cleaner wipes it right off. Actual "pipe cleaners" (the fuzzy sticks made for traditional backy pipes) are perfect for one hitters.

For bongs and larger pipes, look at your retailer's fish and pets department. They have cheap combo packs of brushes of varying sizes and shapes (designed for cleaning aquarium gear). Some have long handles, with a bulbous shape brush at the end, perfect for that hard to clean resevoir on the bong. The long ones that are bristeld all the way down are good for pipes and bubblers.

I, people have just the thing....

A six inch steel rod of perfect smmoth steel JUST wide/narrow enough to fit the one hitter cigarette bat ....(WHEEL AXLES OFF LITTLE KIDS BROKEN TOY WORKS GREAT)

Smoke a hit with the bat to warm it up, then push the steel rod thru the bat to clean.......

you clean yer bat and get a resin bonus too!!!! :D

Ill post some pics be right back

I preach the virtues of the one-hitter myself, looker. I have that same metal dugout btw, so I'll try your cleaning method next time. Thanks.

But for that deep-down clean (especially w/glass), you are not going to beat a solvent (you can still smoke the sludge that sticks to your pipe if you insist on consuming waste products lol!).

Plus, I don't want to go ramrodding steel down anything glass, especially if it barely fits... if you have fifteen minutes, you too can get your glass this clean (works with any size- if you can't put your piece in alcohol (eg bongs), then fill them with alcohol. You will see similar results.

Sorry, I must have missed the proclamation the first four times (thanks much for number five).

So how exactly does this work? You "put your pipe in a bowl of water and boil it"? You literally place a bowl of water on the range-top? What kind of bowl is this, because I'm not even sure if l even have a bowl that can make contact with a heating element... hmm. Maybe I could use a small pot instead? (and will this ruin the pot? I have a few calphalon pieces I don't want to get gummed up).

Also, how long should we boil it? Because fifteen minutes in a disposable cup of alcohol yields a fairly clean piece (see above pics), but apparently, I haven't been getting my glass as clean as I could be by boiling them.

BTW... "omg don't use alcohol." Mind fleshing that out a bit? What specifically are the pitfalls of using alcohol?
