Yeah just about everywhere starcommander..I mean it seems to have changed somwhere around 2000 up to now...

Five years ago I could walk into big chip industry factories manufacturing and pick up medium skill jobs for like 15.00 - 20.00 an hour and all kinds of shifts to choose from..never got a drug test....

A while back my wife goes into WALMART too get like a little part time job and.. YES she had to take a piss test...I find like virtually any company thats anybody is doing this now...(oh, the Walmart job pays 8 bucks an hour)

All you can do is arm yourself with knowledge to dodge the blows they'll throw at you...

well i do believe its got alot to do with insurance,ect.
get hurt on the job,test dirty, bye bye any benifits ya had earned.
they will say YOU violated the rules and was stoned,TOTALLY your fualt even if a crane fell on you they'd claim,you would have seen it and ran if not high

this shit needs fixed,
alot of places jumped on that bandwagon,its so sad

You would have to Sign something within the Application, if they do drug tests.

well on the applications here in texas theres a part where you have to sign to allow them to give you a drug test whenever they want. but it doesnt say they are definitely going to . so there seems like theres a 50-50 chance. sort of. some people i know have been tested while some havent. too bad i only asked 2 people.

Yeah, I'm in tx too, and that's pretty much how it goes. Some industries you WILL get tested for (construction etc), but many just say they will then never follow thru unless there is a wc claim or something.

DO NOT ASK if they drug test (that guy was j/k).

From what i know most fast food places dont they have it optional and u get payed a lil more if u pass it, just what i know tho then again thats in spokane,wa so yeah

Random piss test for drugs definition: Employers ace in the hole to screw an employee out of workmans compensation. Come up dirty...HAD TO BE HIGH...case dismissed and your fired! No unemployment..do not pass go, do not collect $200!
This can also be used for termination for consistant absentee's or for being late on a somewhat consistant basis. Hell, maybe bossman didn't get laid the night before and picked you for a hostile outlet!
Unless my one of my job duties is fucking, bossman can leave my dick out of the equation. JUST SAY NO TO PISS TESTS! :D

I'd say very low. Its very expensive to drug test and if they only want to pay you minimum wage i doubt they want to waste money on drug tests. Also most fast food places and shit have a hard enough time finding employees so drug testing would just be stupid for them anyway

When I worked at dominos I never got tested and most of the other people working there smoked. I dont think even managers get tested.

My advice.

Work for a small business. Because unless it's for a job with a security clearance (that could add $10,000 to your salary in the private sector), it's not worth it to bend over and take a piss test.

Some of the lowet paying jobs I have ever applied for were the ones that drug tested.
Another way of sticking it to the little guy I guess

i worked for the state with no test.I got hurt at work then they tested me over a month later. they got me i was fired but i still to this day collect workers comp.I am still injured. see they waited to long to test me .Man i got lucky.

Like i've said before, me and az666 are lucky.. I don't know of many places over here that drug test, and even if they did and they only found weed in my system, I doubt theyd fire me for it.. the public opinion of weed over here is strange; its illegal, and alot of people disagree with it, but then its also sort of socially acceptable
