Forty-eight years since its been this cool in the Pacific Northwest. And the East Coast and the South are cooking early in June. :thumbsup:

See the evidence? The last thing to effectively block out the sky like that was the Industrial Revolution, and even that wasn't as bad as the volcano. You don't need evidence, just knowledge of history. St. Helens, Vesuvius, the one in Iceland which I cannot spell, those three combined have dropped more carbon, nitrogen, and other particulate matter into our atmosphere than we have EVER come close to doing.

We've only had real industry since after the dark ages. Those volcanoes were spewing pollutants WELL before we were ever here.

As I said, no evidence needed, just a decent history knowledge and some common sense. I'd list off other volcanoes but those were the most relevant ones, oh and then we can talk about the Tunguska meteorite which was 1/3 the power of Tsar Bomba, the most powerful thermonuclear device ever detonated.

Sorry, nature has hurt itself more than man ever will, unless we figure out how to crack the planet in half or totally wipe out our oceans.

Volcanos have the power to alter the earth quickly. However they eject (by weight) @80% ash. The ash has enough weight to settle to the ground ,though it may take many years to do so.

Greenhouse gasses we produce do not fall to the ground. And we make a LOT of CO2. We are dumping it out faster than the plantlife and oceans can use/handle it.

The thought that 6 billion people currently on this earth do not have the power to alter the natural environment is foolish.

... the earth has been undergoing climate change ever since it came into existence. Tho I will concede that we have some influence, our actual ability to really do anything to it other than react and try to survive when Mother Nature tries to kill us wholesale.

The average volcano eruption puts more 'greenhouse' gases into the upper atmosphere than humans have ever created, ever since we started doing so in the 1930s. Please don't take my word for it--I could be lying. Look it up yourself. Really.

If methane gas was the problem, humans would have been inundated years ago with all the horse and cow shit in the streets, fields, and any where they went. I believe that was debunked a few years back. Where I'm originally from, the summers are more topical or Florida like then Mid Atlantic. And they set records every year now on temperature rise. Even the winters are as long. when I was a kid, you could ice skate from Thanksgiving to at least Valentine's day or later. Now, they are lucky to get ice long enough to skate on. That indicates a warming trend. Even the mini-ice age of the late 17th and 18th centuries was a fluke due to more volcanism then today. :cool:
