Okay guys, as most of you know, I'm passionate. I'm also want to help put together what would be, in the beginning at least, a small group of DEDICATED individuals who want to help PEACEFULLY  defend our state's Constitution from the perversion that it is about to experience at the hands of 6 misguided individuals.
All I'm asking is for you to commit to ONE meeting. Miss what you gotta miss, do what you gotta do. This means a LOT to you all, or you wouldn't be here. Why wouldn't you be interested in ONE meeting? Are people THAT lazy or scared? Then we REALLY are fucked. But I don't believe that. I believe that we all have greatness in us, and this will not require greatness, just effort. We have Righteousness on our side.
Like that saying goes, "It would be foolish to think that a small group of dedicated individuals cannot change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has".

Steve, what your trying to do is admirable and I was wondering if you considered using a programm like skype or even ventrillo to help organize people.
With life in general, health issues, and the fact that this forum does not give us the opportunity to communicate easily having one of these free programs could help confrence calls. If we can all atleast have a back and forth conversation, perhaps, just perhaps, we could become organized.
Just a thought.

Steve, I've tried contacting you through the forum to no avail.
Send me your contact info through reputation. I contacted you using the same. Check your User CP up top! :)
I can't give you more rep points/contact you again because it tells me I have to spread the points around.

Hey Steve I know I have talked with you in the past about this.
I have a meeting with Corry on the 17th, I would like to propose that we all get together and pool our resources and take action. I am not sure how to move forward that is why I am meeting with Corry. I do know we are all stronger if we stand together instead of each of us trying to fight this individually. It would be nice if we don't get caught up in the small stuff but all agree that it is a bad bill that should not be rushed through for the sake of regulation. But should be defeated and lets go back to the drawing board now that we are all a bit wiser on all sides and can come up with good regulation for the industry.

I agree, and think the only way to move forward is to "play the game" and try to get an injunction against the bill. It's going to cost money, and I think the best way to support a legal challenge is through an effective fund-raising campaign. In parallel, we need to present a logical argument why the bill is unconstitutional, harmful to patients, and does not represent the will of the people expressed in the passing of amendment 20. Of course, putting together this argument is a lawyer's job, but we can help by supplying facts and evidence as needed.
The people who need to pay for this are the ones with a stake in the game, so if you are a caregiver or disp owner, you should contribute. If you are a patient who believes this is not in their best interest, you should contribute and/or write letters to our lawmakers.
I would suggest a PayPal account setup for donations. Disps can be contacted directly and maybe post ads so caregivers and patients are notified and have an opportunity to contribute.
I think some publications would be willing to donate advertising space for the cause as well?
IMO, it'll come down to money. The more on hand, the better the chances to successfully challenge the bill.

Yes, CM, talk to Corry about setting up a legal defense fund to protect members of an association to include patients, caregivers, dispensaries and edible mfgrs. if members get arrested, or for injunctions to prevent closers, constitutional objections, etc. it assures there's an atty available to defend / support us.

I am in, I really do not have a lot of funds but will donate all I can, could even donate product to disp. to sell and use the funds to donate on my behalf, I have been a patient and a caregiver for 10 yrs now and I will not let a bunch of back ass politicians tell me I can no longer do this.

Count me in! We all need to contribute to the cause in whatever ways needed. We're in need of a leader, is Corry the only chance? Can't we have 15 lawyers challenge parts of this bill instead of just one? I know he's probably the best mmj lawyer in the state but should we bring in somebody with even bigger balls? Wouldn't this increase our chances on having the whole bill ruled unconstitutional? I think the real chance we have is fighting this in court, as there are unconstitutional parts in the bill. I think Corry needs to have a meeting with all the caregivers and try to get something done with our help.

Thanks everybody and I am encouraged. Just think if 200 dispensaries kicked in just $1000.00 and then caregivers and patients gave what they could, we would have a sizable defense fund to get all the actions necessary to delay and defeat this. We need to spread the word and get as many people on board as possible, we should be talking to the Grow Shops and other business that benefit from our industry also and get them on board.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I am not sure if this will help but I run allmmj.com and can set up a forum or something for all of us to share contact info and other info. I have it set up so you can start PMing right away since that seems to be an issue on some boards.
I have been in Brazil for a couple of months so the site is a little slow in terms of traffic but we can do whatever the cause calls for over there without any intervention.

That's a great idea, although, outside of my comfort zone, I am LOSR on computers. If we had a "tech person" that would be dope.
My only thought is that even though we're going to do this PEACEFULLY ;)
I MUCH prefer the interaction and privacy of an in person meeting.
Maybe a certain core of 4-10 meets in person and then later we have a video conference where anyone and everyone can get the scoop and make the moves that NEED to be made?
The more ideas we throw out the better! COME ON Y'ALL!!!!

GM, sounds like a plan. I would love to be at a meeting with you guys. Any of us who want to attend should meet in person first, BEFORE the day of the meeting, and throw it down.
Here's where I am at. A LOT of people have NO clue as to what's going on. We're all so BUSY, another part of "the man's" plan ;) that getting together seems impossible. It's not. I'll miss out on sleep, I'll sacrifice whatever it takes. I'm ALL IN. Not all of us want to do that, or can do that, but we can spread the word. THAT is what we need. Word spreaders.
We need to go to EVERY dispensary and let them know what is coming and what we envision. We will need a place where those who are interested can go to ask questions. We should print up a SIMPLE (K.I.S.S. is a great motto for when you rally up the public) sheet that discusses the issues and why they MUST get involved. Do we have salesmen on here?
What if every dispensary, for one day kicked us a percentage of something i.e total profits, profits from certain strains they sell. We also NEED the owners to inform their peoples of what's up, and how it's all about to go down the tubes. Let's mention how our protected records aren't going to be protected anymore (if that has been changed, please correct me) THAT should open eyes!!! Y'all want the feds up in your business?
It starts with a few, and they MUST be passionate, people ride your enthusiasm, so if you're not enthused, then you should have a "behind the desk" job. At that is PERFECT. We need those people too.
So, how about a ONE day sale, mid-June, (so we got 5 weeks) for EVERYONE we can round up, and we (and everyone who's eyes we can open in these 5 weeks) all spend as much as we can that day (save up if you can) and the dispensaries donate as much as they can (I have a feeling we're going to see SOME cool donations) and from that, we will have the money needed to make us LEGIT and a force.
By that point, a LOT of people are going to feel EMPOWERED, which they are not feeling right now, in fact, it's the opposite, and then, with proper management, we WILL be a POWER.
We need a name and a logo, and we should submit ideas for a vote among active members. That alone makes a huge difference. I have connects to the top of NORML (Not sure if that will matter) and connects to do accounting and even turn this into a 501(c)3 if we so choose. And I have this heart, and it's beating like a freight train.
This is OURS. We are fighting for what is PROMISED TO US. We're NOT taking anything. We've been ROBBED of our birthright by a few who would reject the will of the people.
That is Un-American, that is Un-Coloradan. That is treachery.
"That a Government of The People, By the People, and FOR the People, shall NOT perish from this earth".
Godspeed.

Quickly, if you responded to me, and I didn't address you, please forgive me, time is limited at this point but...
HELL TO THE YES I NEED you involved.
Like we teach our 4 home schooled children, "We have wants, and we have needs, there is a DIFFERENCE!!"
I need you guys, the cause needs you, Colorado needs you, America needs, you, Your Constitutions NEED you, our lovely plant that they would have eradicated by now unless others had FOUGHT, NEEDS you, the sick and the future sick, NEED you. You NEED your herb, and if we don not stand up, well, you see how they're taking all the ground that the WILL of the people established.
What about an auction? Glass pieces that are donated from various shops Who in turn would get a LOT more business from us, RIGHT? We MUST support those who support the cause. The others NEED to go away. It's the blind who are in great part to blame for all this mess, ON BOTH SIDES!
We don't need to have it on hand, but what about Gift Certificates from different places? What if we could get the boys at Deltai9 to throw out a few batches of their "Banner" for auction? What would that get? Folks, we have MULTI-MILLIONAIRES who are patients, who are finding relief from the medicine GOD intended, and they don't want to go back to the streets any more (maybe less) than you do. What if they could donate money so that WE fight for them, AND they could get a little product that they most likely would NEVER hear about? How would that affect Delta's business? Can you see how it can happen? Possibilities. Possibilities.
The ideas to raise money are endless. I've done this quite a few times, raising money up out of nothing for a cause. NEVER on this level of course, but when RIGHTEOUSNESS is involved (Big word for me, no religious meaning in this context) and you combine that with a dedication of the heart and will that cannot be bent or broken, then, and RIGHT THEN, the outcome is inevitable. WE WILL OVERCOME. Let's spin this up!!! :D
peace.

If you agree with this last effort, pass this on immediately.
If your happy with this desecration of our constitution for greed....delete it!
VETO March on the Governors Mansion
Gather at the Civic Center Park 5-15 @ 11 AM
If we can gather a large assembly of people, 1000 or more we will walk to the Governor's Mansion. If only a few show up, we can just demonstrate along Broadway St. across from the Capitol. This is a Constitutional Right to Assemble for a VETO March!
As a Nationally Certified alternative care Naturopath, Master Herbalist, Homeopath and Holistic Nutritional consultant trained in degenerative disease and maintaining wellness for 33 years, I am appalled at the disregard
of the voice of the people to the Legislators and Senators of this state concerning HB10-1284 and SB10-109
I am pleading with everyone to call, email and fax letters to the Capitol. HB10-1284 must be stopped. Amendment 20, Article XVlll, section 14 of the Colorado constitution was trampled on by the large majority of ELECTED Officials today at the Capitol. If you are a caregiver that is not a dispensary, L.140 amendment holds you to NO more than 30 plants TOTAL for your 5 patients. Only a dispensary will be able to provide the needed access of additional medicine. I have been in support of a dispensary model, however this is over the top!
It was also very insulting to the patients of Colorado with degenerative illnesses to listen to the puns and jokes out of Romer's mouth, he even made a joke about the senators with MMJ licenses.......This was to insinuate why they were not supportive of this bill. Romer referred to more than 50% of dispensary owners are Thugs. Spence said she doesn't support organized crime, insinuating that the dispensaries that will be put out of business are the ones with organized crime money.
There will be a 3rd reading of this bill. This session is over next week!
Do Not Waste Time.........call, fax and email. This is an ELECTION YEAR Let them know if you are their constituent, tell them you are paying attention to the votes and you want them to VOTE NO on the 3rd reading!!!
If this does not get their attention, all we have left is to PICKETT the Governor's mansion!!!
Let's set a date of May 15th to organize at the Civic Center Park at 11 am. Bring Large VETO Signs with the bill numbers on them, bring every ADULT you can round up and let's walk from the park to the Governor's mansion and have a peaceful public gathering to send the Governor a loud and clear message!!!
We must mount an army of people for this. A few hundred to show up is not acceptable, we need a thousand or more to get his attention!!!
I hope that everyone will go into the voting booths in NOVEMBER and VOTE NO on every Legislator and Senator that VOTED on these bills passage to allow a monopoly to the large dispensaries and blatantly walked all over our constitutional rights!!!
Sincerely,
Kimberly Matteo, N.D., M.H.

What is the intended focus of the website? Is it an auction site to generate funds? A forum site for discussing ideas? A patient/caregiver connection site?
When dispensaries start to go, I think a patient/caregiver connection site will be very helpful! A private, referral-only type board would be kinda cool!

Here's where I am at. Mark is a KEY man here. He's been on the floor, knows the bills and the inner workings and what not. We NEED him or someone like him. Although I would prefer it to be him. His character and dedication to the game and the State of Colorado are unquestionable.
As far as the website goes. I see it as being multi-functional. If/When we do the auction, we'll need bandwidth and hi-res for that, but more than that, we need a clearing house that EVERYONE in the state to go to and learn about what's up and how they can get involved. I LOVE what Lampost said about hooking caregivers and patients up. I have a design that I can show the webmaster that is already functional that would be PERFECT. Some areas can be "read only" or "invite only" and others wide open. I humbly ask that I am involved in the website design in some way.
We're almost all in Denver/Boulder/Ned, but this is a state issue. We MUST remember that the people we are trying to reach are busy, and many are not of the highest reading capacity, so we MUST get all this legal gobbilty-gook into layman's terms I know I need it broken down for me, again, Mark and Rob and then a "translator" to get it broken down with suggestions for actions to be taken.
We need a SIMPLE, catchy name AND then a logo. We need to define what who and what we are, what were are about, and what we intend to do. I'll say right now, that I cannot see how the long term goal of the group can be anything less than legalization for both MJ and HEMP. We can literally change the country with hemp. No more nonsense like Vladez and what's going on in the Gulf.
The wealthy card holders will not, like many others, and for very good reason, come on board until we have put into very clear writing what we are, what our focus and goals are, and how we will achieve those ends. It may take a while for the wheels to turn while we're in "low gear". But momentum WILL swing our way IF we work hard and keep the dream as our common focus. I don't care who you vote for, what you eat, who/what you sleep with.... If you see MJ and HEMP for what they are, and want to free them, then you are a freedom fighter, and you are my friend.
Right now, the first thing we MUST do, (Beyond establishing a small "leadership team", which I'm not sure how to go about putting together) is we MUST get to the dispensaries and get the word out to their people about us, our cause and the site. We can hit 500 doors and reach how many THOUSANDS of people if the owners feel our sincerity? But once the doors get closed, we'll most likely lose contact with thousands of what would seem to me, GUARANTEED ALLIES. We have what, 7 weeks? Clock's ticking.
We need to get a name, a website, and that flyer printed up. AND THEY NEED TO LOOK GOOD! No crap!! Second hand trash gets treated like as such. I know a little about marketing and the branding mindset of Americans. Ironically, what blinds them to the brainwashing of the programming they ingest 24/7 also makes them easy to target when the cause is worthwhile. It's not rocket science. but it IS science. I gotta ask for your trust on this one. We then need to train ourselves up together so that when we go into dispensaries, they KNOW we're legit and will back our play. If you go in all stumbling and unsure, they'll be unsure, and we don't have the time for practice runs.
That''s how I see it.
What say you all???
