Well I'm only taking care of one plant right now and just wanted to show some pictures to make sure its doing alright since this is my first time growing

its at least a month old and little less than 12" I used some 3 month release with a 10-10-20 ratio and just plain rain water every couple days i did trim some leafs near the bottom it would have like 4-5 sets of leafs

If you guys or gals have any advice or tips just send em this way :P help is always appreciated

it looks healthy. Are you keeping it outside or are you growing indoors? You still got a ways to go....a few weeks of vegging at least! But it looks nice a green! good luck!

Its outdoors and it gets 100% of sun not sure how many hours but its probably like 12-15 hours

I think the stem is a little weak since it didn't get a lot of sunlight when it was small so it stretched

Mrbig1

In my area sunrise is like 7am and sunset is like 8pm so it gets a good bit of sun since its in a big open area

so you are growing from seed? do you know if its fem? was size pot is that? I've got a little experience growing outdoors....but mostly indoor.

you are going to want to make sure the pot is big enough to allow growth. You can get plants pretty tall when growing outdoors....

Mrbig1

Its in a pretty small pot but ill probably move it to a 5 gallon bucket later once its a bit bigger

Still not sure if its female or male

moody420
04-13-2010, 04:12 AM
cool....yeah, once it gets a little bigger, just transplant it to a 5gal....that should be good

Also males tend to show their sex earlier than female so if you see balls growing....get rid of him! good luck!

Yeah gotta keep an eye out for sex of the plant

On average if a plant had good soil and enough sun how long would it take from seed to harvest? ( a cool time line would help me understand :P)

On average, an outdoor grow takes about 6 months. That's the benefit of doing outdoor, you can control the enviroment and shorten grow times.

Most outdoor grows start late april/early may and go through till about october....depending on bud maturity.

The fan leaves should be left on. Think of them as solar panels. If this plant is not going into the earth, repot in a slightly bigger pot. Repot in a bigger pot every six weeks after that.

You have some time until it shows you its sex. One more bit of advice....plant a few more. If you only have one plant, and it goes male, you,' my friend, will not be happy. If you had, say, three more, you most likely will have at least one female (or maybe more).

still doing good another set of leafs grew. also watered it today since top soil was crusty.

Used purified water from tap ( got one of those water filters on it)

I water just enough to cover the whole top soil of pot like quarter of an inch

has ur pot got holes in the bottom??

if so just pour water slowly til it trickles out the bottom, works with all gardening and last time i grew

just remember to allow time for the water to soak through the soil, so dont go pouring loads on cuz it ent coming out the bottom pour a little bit wait for 10sec or soo then agen and agen....til it trickles out the bottom

you don't want to do that. you want to saturate "all" of your medium. you also want to allow for some run-off. this will wash-out (flush) built up nutes. if you continue to water the way you mentioned, you will quickly accumulate an abundance of nutes in your medium, causing your plants to burn...

id say the soil isn't full of nutrients to begin with that's why i used a 3 month release fertilizer (10-10-20)

i just water every couple of days

so i should water it like every 4 days then one day water it till it drains through to flush it?

(hopes its female looked like the areas where the pistils or pollen sacks have sprouted something but to early to tell)

ive got some 12-8-4 fert should i use that instead or once i transplant it to a bigger container?

~tell me if i doing something wrong just dont be mean :P hope to grow more long life to live~

Also charged battery's for camera ill take some more pics but it probably hasn't changed much ~8mp is pretty good with super close up~

if you used pre-ferted medium, then including the nutes you add with water, i'd say your the medium is full of nutes. i copied bushy old grower's methods when i started growing. he used pre-ferted medium too. he would decrease the amount of base nutes by about 1/4 to compensate for the nutes in the medium. as for your watering/feeding schedule, only water/feed, when the plant dries up between them. in soil, feed once a week. between feedings, water with properly ph'd plain water. i like getting run-off when i water/feed, some folks don't. you'll find what method works best for you. if'n i was you, when i transplant, i wouldn't use pre-ferted medium. i like knowing what they're getting when i feed. plus, a lot of those mediums include vermiculite. i don't like verm. at all! i like letting the medium dry up naturally, and that stuff just gets in the way of that.

Mrbig1
04-15-2010, 10:13 PM

If its a male ill just let it grow...

Ok so i had to put a 5gal bucket over top of it

1. Its gonna rain a ton
2. Like 40mph gust

Dont want it gettin killed lol

Mrbig1
04-17-2010, 11:46 AM
Well good morning all morning dwellers :P

I transplanted it to a 5gal bucket (gonna say "it" till i know if its male/fem) hopefully it takes and doesn't die.

 i just used a plain potting soil with a bit of peat moss mixed into it like probably (50/50). i also put a little (12-4-8) 2 month release fert like 2 handfuls for the whole 5gal buck.

Ill take some more pics tonight to see how it changes from being moved

Also made a little animal/big bug thing out of like the stuff for vents on house foundations its a round 3 foot tall cylinder that fits perfectly on the 5gal bucket and its got extra in case i gotta make it closed on the top (damn deer) but its like chicken wire so all the sun will get to it

~Someone should just move this to like grow log or somewhere~

Mrbig1

Well i got some pictures a couple mins ago busted my ass coming down my path and fell on a thorn bush

The pics include pictures of my "camouflage pants for super stealthy nurturing" and "To high to spray paint black camo design"

Now i remember why i have black spray paint on my hand

If anyone can tell the sex what might it be?

My area is kinda weird it gets to like 40f at night and like 60-70f during the day

But i'm pretty sure this strain was grown in my region anyways so i think its adapted to my climate

Mrbig1
04-19-2010, 09:37 AM
Anyone know what strain this is?

Sativa or Indica or a hybrid?

I mean what does it look more like?

2me it dose look a mix but i'd say its more sativa. :) i dont worry to much about the temp untill my girls are well into flowering, (england - hampshire)
hope this helps :)

...but what would I know ;)

Also still looks early to be able to tell sex, but keep a close eye on those new buds... I'm willing to go out on a limb and say (probably) female, but look for those nice cute fiiiiine hairs coming out the top of a budding site.

(She!) looks healthy, tho! Git yerself a PH meter asap, tho, should not be more than 10bux either at plant store or aquarium shop. You need to see range on your meter or kit of 5 to 7, anything above or below is not good. :) In dirt, theoretical 'perfect' PH you're aiming for, for basic watering or whatever, should be 6-6.5

As far as temp goes, getting down to 40f is kinda scary, but still just within 'tolerance'. 70-70 during daytime/light hours is near perfect. If you could guarantee it's going to see like 60-68f at night, that would also help.

If there is any way that you can make sure she's getting 18 hours of light, that wouldn't be bad. For flowering, 12 is optimal (with 12 uninterrupted darkness), but if you're doing it totally outdoors, jus' let Nature take 'er course.

Still gotta wait only the second growths are coming out right now so i cant sex it >.<

I'm also gonna have to say its probably mostly sativa from looking at the leafs but I'm sure it has some indica in it.

...but it looks healthy, mon!

Keep an eye on the budding sites, and look for either little hairs starting to shoot outta the tops of 'em, or little balls(acks) accumulating in the crux where a bud should be...

Should tell ya within a couple of weeks from now... and I'd keep up the watering-to-slight-trickle that was suggested. Let 'em dry out completely between waterings, then soak the lil' darlin's fully when they're ready.

But don't DROWN 'em ;)
