Well its that time of year again, i placed an order for Nirvana's Papaya from attitude seed bank a week ago, should be arriving within the week, so this is more of a preliminary setup :D

I've read alot of great reviews for the papaya strain as outdoor grows go, the attitude seedbank also is sending me a Feminized Cole train seed, dont have alot of information on the strain so if anyones got a thought lemme know!

Last year i cut it close with my bagseed, but in the end i got great results, started veg outdoors in early september and harvested late December. I'm going to be using the same setup i had last time, with a few soil modifications.

The nutrients to be used will be fox farms (Big Grow, Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom) As well as superthrive for transplants & sprouts.
As i had issues with pest control last time i purchased a bottle of neem oil, hopefully should do the trick :).

I feel kinda shitty as my camera broke before harvest last year, wish i could have thrown a post up of it :stoned: i netted just under 8 oz. with 6 plants (all bagseed) so i feel very confident within 5 months i should have some beastie beauty's.

Mail day! :D

It only took 7 days from order to delivery for my seeds!
10X Nirvana Papaya 1X Reserva Privada Cole Train Feminized.

Huge thumbs up to attitude seed bank for hooking it up so quickly

Sadly i wont be able to put up HQ photos this time around :( ill have to use my phone camera, which isnt THAT bad... My digital camera's memory stick went bad so i need a new one before i can take pics again.

I still need to go to my local shop for nutes & neem oil. By monday i should have pics of the layout, though it will probably look the same as before :).

Okay so after getting materials together and setting up i have a happy note and a sad note..

About a week ago as i was setting up the pots and rapid rooters, i set down the 2 seed bags, one with the single cole train fem, the other with the 10 papaya seeds. I walked away for 30 seconds to grab scissors... come back and the fem seed was gone, spent a good minute looking for it, much to my dismay it dissapeared..

So! on the good note, 9 of the 10 papaya has already broken ground and got started.

the last one is poking its head through soon, for the moment i just wire caging surrounding the sprouts. I wont be setting up the tent again till they begin to flower.

Once i start to see their 3rd true set of leaves ill get some pictures in here. Not much to see right now :)

Anyways ill check back in a week from now, peace! :hippy:

Alright so i know i don't have pics yet, but again there's not much to see yet.
The 10th papaya never sprouted a taproot and i'm assuming it was a *dud*, I had a couple seeds from my harvest last year that i had started as well.

So other than that everyone is looking good :), all of the babies are on their second true sets of leaves and looking perky. As far as i'm concerned the hard part is over, now all i have to do is water daily and watch my babies grow up

On to the next subject, my single fem seed that was lost, i believe i know exactly where it is, it was in a sealed dime baggie so its not like its going to be able to sprout or anything... but its underneath my wood deck and the only way i can figure to get to it would be to rip out the wood.... which id rather not have to.

I'm sure by the next time i post I'll have some pics of my garden to throw up! Until then, stay green everyone! :hippy:

Okay! update time... Sadly no pics yet, but i can promise you that all of my babies are looking healthy and happy :)

I had a few seeds i harvested from last years grow that i also started at the same time as the papaya, everyone is around 9" tall so far, i just finished transplanting 8 of the papaya, one of the seeds never sprouted though :wtf:

And one had its first set of leaves gnawed on by annoying little ants to a knub, but amazingly its caught root and is on its 4th set of true leaves now, so ill be transplanting those into a bigger pot soon enough.

Still trying to find a good deal on a camera, my phone does not do them justice with quality. sorry :(

Well anyways... i've got another whole 4-5 months before harvest time, lots of work still to be done :).

Hopefully I'll get another good male-female ratio this time around, i plan on fertilizing a couple branches so i can continue the strain next year, but not there yet so i can only hope all goes well!

Stay green all! ill find a camera, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Update time! So i left town to help a family member for about a month, had a friend take care of my babies, and he did an awesome job :).

So when i left, they were just starting (only 1ft tall) . I come home to see they're showing sex and are between 4-5 1/2 ft tall now.

After sorting the boys out and the girls, which the signs are pretty definite, i ended up with 5 papaya girls, one bagseed girl, 4 papaya males, 1 bagseed male.

Now comes the tricky part of transplanting them into their new 25gal homes.
Which by the looks of things, will pay off in the end.. i don't exaggerate often but these babies are going to be pushing 10ft + . Veritable monsters :D
I pulled all but the one papaya male, and moved him accordingly.
There will be about 200yds and a 40yd thick forest separating the boy from the girls... which i would hope is far enough.

I'm going to be waiting another month until i even consider switching to flowering nutes tho. Or at least until i can confirm that they truly are in full flower mode.

I will have photos coming up this friday when i get my cam hooked up. You will not be dissapointed :) i know i wasn't.

I'm hoping my final product will look something like StinkyAttic's papaya :rasta:

Stay green everyone :) i will return.

Okay so as promised i finally have pics.. They aren't high res being that they came from my phone camera :wtf:

But you can see how big they've gotten so far :). I'm also under the impression that my 2 bigger papaya ladies have gone into flowering, as such i've started them on a Big Bloom / Tiger Bloom Nutrient regiment.

Also, i wanted to know if anyone can confirm this for me, when you take your males, boil them in a pot of water for 20 minutes and strain the mixture into a liter bottle, to create a liquid nutrient mixture to feed your ladies. Is this for real? I'm debating feeding them the mixture per your response :)

So! i figured its due time for another update..

I'm pushed to believe that all 3 of my 4 papaya ladies are in full flower mode now. Hundreds of Calyx's swarm the internodes. They are still growing at a pretty decent rate  .

My biggest girl is about 67" tall now, followed up by her 60" Sister, and the 4ftX3ft bush. As seen in these pictures, I am however leaving out the other 3, they just aren't as amazing as these 3 :).

I have converted my male into a Bonsai tree, i trimmed him down to 2 small nutty branches. Less chances for his pollen to float 300ft through 2 tree lines, and past a house to impregnate my bitches without my approval.

The heat is so extreme this time of year, I'm having to water them every day pretty much. It's getting up around 98 degrees already, and they are sitting in about 9 hours of direct sunlight every day. I've been giving them doses of Superthrive Big Bloom & Tigerbloom @ every feeding, and adding 1tsp of Big Grow every week for a steady supplement of nitrogen. Adding an extra gallon of straight water every other day to each girl.

I wont start using molasses again until they're about 4 more weeks into flower. But for now I'm happy with everyone's progress!

I'll have another update here in a week or two, peace stoners!

Wow your ladies are looking very sexy! I'm doing my first grow outdoor as we speak. I had an indoor setup but I didn't want the electric bill to go up so I decided to do my grow outdoors. I hope mine will come out looking like yours! I'll keep an eye out on your thread

yeah, my digital camera happened to break right after last years harvest.....
But i got a good end game harvest :). Aside from a couple lower branches that got impregnated almost pure Sensimilla buds. About 200G Dried in the end.

Putting pics up later, I really should have read more about the strain i was growing :). All the papaya girls are pretty much in full bloom, been flowering for about 2-3 weeks now. Which i was hoping they would have a longer veg cycle, but according to every description of the strain it's an "Early Maturing" strain. So nix my hopes of having 10 ft beasts :wtf: But i suppose i can see light in the fact that everyone is healthy side from pruning dead fan leaves every other day.

It's odd though, they get no other form of light besides the sun, and we're going through 14-10 light-dark cycle right now. Just didn't think they would start to bloom until august :). Either way, if everything goes through okay until harvest, it's looking like it will be somewhere around early September/Late august for the 2 bigger ladies.

Started feeding them molasses now, 1tbsp/gal every other watering. I sadly ran out of Fox Farms *Big Bloom* . I still have plenty of tiger bloom to go through harvest. Also adding a Tsp of Grow Big every week for a nice little shot of N

Anyways, I'll have a couple photos coming up later, i got myself a new piece! which i will also have a couple pics of

So ive been busy, not been enough time lately but i got some pics to update finally.
They've all been growing very nicely, i recently transplanted the larger bush into the ground. Out of the 6 girls 4 are papaya and 2 are bagseed, which is pretty easy to tell the difference. So far im loving the growth on this strain.

3 of them are flowering at the moment, the 2 bigger girls in the back and the bagseed on the right are between 2-4 weeks in. Buds are in early stages of development. The rest are still vegging, no telling when they'll start to bloom, but i figure i'll be harvesting everyone one by one over the next few months.

Ive also got a pic of my growing collection of pipes, it seems every time i get a new one it always gets bigger.. Next time im getting a water pipe, maybe a sherlock.

Sigh, did bud checks on the two taller girls today, the one that has been flowering longer apparently got impregnated on a some of her branches, not a lot of seed pods, but for the growth of the seed id say it happened just around the time i cut down all the boys. Which i guess is fine in a sense i wanted to get some seeds anyways, more papaya for next years grow :).

The bag seed girls are doing fine as well, the one is about 4 1/2 weeks into flowering, the other is still vegging, not very big strains, purple grained stems on both of them.
Again its been weird with the two papaya budding and the other two still vegging, gonna have a harvest in august and another in October. Which again works out i guess there's no boys to plant their seed anymore.

I'll have pics up in a week or two, peace! :hippy:
