Anderson advises neighbors to watch for suspicious activity in their communities.
"Be alert, watch the neighborhood and if they see any suspicious activity they need to report it," Anderson said.
sounds like they are trying to scare the unknowing and then to use them to rat med growers out.
btw even tho this guy was dumb enough to talk about his grow. then talk about how much he looked to make all under this false canopy of it being legal.does'nt mean he should spend his life in jail.i guess i think alil diffrent i think someones word should be bond.the state calls it legal and obama told them to lay off. to me it looks like a pattern is starting to show with all of this?
a month or 2 ago they hit acouple shops, then a lab now there after growers.
i like how the prick said we get paid to do this it's our job as long as we get paid to do this we will.you would think that someone holding a job title like that they should have morals,it's funny how on the news they sure do act as if they respect the people and go by a set of morals....

Obama gave the order at the administrative level. But he can't stop every trigger-happy young recruit from making a few busts! Especially ones where the fuckin' retards were dumb enough to instigate the trouble.
The feds for the most part have laid off. However, it is still against the law. If someone shouts in fed's faces that their breaking the law, then they're going to take you down...
It's hilarious how stupid that guy was! He thought he was cool. LOL... "living the dream". I bet the cops were cracking up watching that and getting suited up for the raid. Who goes on the news and says how much money they make doing their job!?!

^agreed. some people begin to feel invulnerable after some time growing 'legally'. Obviously, many still feel MMJ is illegal (just look at all the public comments at the end of the online news articles). My hat's off to dispensary owners who are in our front lines of this war on ignorance regarding marijuana.
THIS IS THE TIME FOR ROB CORRY TO REALLY GET BUSY. HELP ROB!

Regardless of who made the bust it had to happen for them. It was broadcast to the public! The DEA has to act or they'll be seen as weak and ineffective (which would drive them nuts).
They shouldn't be seeking out these busts (but I'm sure they are), but if they happen in front of them they will act.
I thought I read somewhere that a tip came in. It wouldn't be hard for a neighbor to see that and then call it in! The neighbors, in hindsight, were suspicious and also were pissed! Also, you can see his NAME in the story (on the electric bill). What was this guy thinking?
But we will see. You may be right. I bet the DEA may have gotten so out of control at this point that they won't even listen to the president. We all know some new laws are coming soon. I bet that's when the DEA will make their presence known big-time. Sounds like they already know that lawmakers are going to pass a bill that will make dispensaries non-profit. Then they're wanting to come in and systematically shut down every dispensary!
Its fuckin bullshit man! Its going to be an interesting few months.

also would like to add that this only goes to show who the real powers at be are and it's not the prez.the dea, atf, fbi, fed reserve so on are the ones pulling the strings. how so? well for 1 if this group is disobeying direct orders from the prez you would think that just like was said above about making them look weak if they did nothing.you would think that this would show weakness from the prez by him not standing up and saying hey i told you to stop doing this? either that or the whole stand down bit was just another bs show?hummm

Look what the reporter had to do to get the interview...
With a little persuading over a meal at Village Inn, I convinced experienced medical marijuana grower Chris B. to do something he??s never done before, show the public his very large medical marijuana grow operation.
His house sits smack in the middle of a wealthy Highlands Ranch neighborhood. He uses about a thousand feet of his 5,500 square foot house to grow legal medical marijuana.
That guy was a complete idiot.

notice where he said "it is not medicine".
Exactly the reason why the DEA talks out its ass. Its biased, ill informed, and in fear of its demise. Maybe this raid was locally politically motivated. The DEA should be concentrating on illegal drugs entering the country like cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin, not medical patients in states where medical marijuana is legal. Hopefully, the patients of Colorado will stand up to them because some of them are dirty (if you catch my drift). :D

So this just keeps getting better.
Guy invites media into his home thanks to a Village Inn dinner.
Makes public the fact that he will make $400K this year.
Signs a consent to search form when DEA show up at his house.
Is growing 224 plants.
Is only caregiver for 12 people.
I wonder how many of his patients have those nice 'edible cards' that doctors are promoting these days that claim to allow you to grow up to 50 plants.
Do the math. I guarantee some dipshit doctor wrote 12 recommendations to patients with a 20 plant cap.
Just goes to show that the law says 6 plants, and I'm guessing the DEA is sticking firmly to that number, and not the "what ever the doctor deems necessary" number.
Guess we'll find out at the trial...

It's not our math, it's his major judgement malfunction that grabs me..
The recs don't mean squat.
The fact that he had that many, just says he was not legal under State law either. :wtf:
And, seems un-aware that the feds are un-concerned by the number of plants the State allows.

I don't carry if I'm holding more than what would be petty offense amounts without a mmj license (i.e., more than an ounce), mostly because of my paranoia about the Feds. Good luck getting an answer from the State. I don't think they know the answer to any questions raised by Amendment 20, nor will anyone else until the State gets done "regulating," and then some cases wend their way through the Courts, and anyone who says they know any of the answers is full of shit.
As to the Feds, the case law is pretty clear that the 9th and 10th amendments are totally meaningless, and they can do whatever the hell they want, irrespective of State law to the contrary. More's the pity.

Arguably, there was already a test case for this that we hit on in our blog: Marijuana news, Medicinal marijuana and mmj cards | blog.thereleafcenter.com (http://blog.thereleafcenter.com/2010/02/15/shn-3/)
Thomas Sexton was growing in Pueblo with extra plant counts on recs. It was argued that he negotiated his plant counts up, that they weren't medically necessary, and he was found guilty.
His biggest mistake was giving away his utility amounts and saying he had a jungle of electrical wires running through there. Oh, and not having enough patients. Whoops!

those bone heads bring media attention to the topic we share in common. like the black woman who refused to sit at the back of the bus. some of our people sit there point fingers laugh and have a good time at the expense of others for what should be a god given right. what we need is televised scientific studies and medical studies so that everyone sees who the real dopers are. wow mmj cures all that why didnt we hear about that on the news????:wtf: and lets be clear people you weren't always legal stop acting all high and mighty. if we divide legal from not legal were going to kill the potential from REAL legalization.

Not all publicity is good publicity. This idiot going on television saying he would make $400,000/yr growing in his basement is definitely bad publicity (especially for him.) It doesn't take a genius to see that.
And Sexton is only a test case if it is appealed based on the issue one wishes to test. Procedurally, since it was a jury verdict, it's entirely possible the jury just didn't believe the amount he was in possession of was medically necessary. As a finding of fact that cannot be appealed. Also, he was acquitted of cultivation, and convicted of possession, so the plant count issue won't be tested at the appellate level in this case.

still doesn matter federal law doesnt recognize mmj only arrests to boost profits for all involved. they are just one group of our rogue employees that no longer feel that they should work under the rule of the people. the ama now recognizes mj as a medicine and still no change in laws. traitors

Also, he was acquitted of cultivation, and convicted of possession, so the plant count issue won't be tested at the appellate level in this case.
true....however its cases like these that will challeng mj on a federal level and hopefully get us a favorable precedence and that media attention will be enormous. suddenly all the lies will surface via a media frenzy and there will be a bunch of knuckle draggers scratching their heads thinking "they lied to me?" wont that be poetic:D

The state of the law on a Federal level won't change via precedent, unless the Federal judiciary suddenly rediscovers the 9th and 10th amendments, which isn't likely at this late date. Legislative action is the ONLY way to enact the truth. Sad but true. The Feds will always be way behind State and local Govts.

If i were this guy, I'd wait for the thick of the trial, and I'd be yelling at the jury "it was medical, it was medical!!!!"

Maybe this will encourage more patient caregiver relationships?
I don't like seeing large commercial operators in the MMJ industry. I personally would rather see dispensaries go away and all of this handled between patients and caregivers.
That won't happen though - the state knows the only way to get their cut is through taxes that come in via legitimate dispensaries.
As for the guy in the news story - serves him right. Dumbass should have kept his mouth shut. I'll bet he feels like a schmuck right about now. Busted and sent to federal prison over a Village Inn breakfast!! Dumbass!
If he was harvesting every 4 months and had been doing it for 1.5yrs - thats at least 3 harvests. And he had 224 plants. Let's say he only gets 4oz per plant. Thats 56lbs every 4 months.
$3000 per pound
56 ponds
Carry the 1
Cross the Tee's and dot the I's
$168,000 every 4 months
Minus $8000 for electricity
Thats about $160,000 every 4 months or so.

I certainly wouldn't call 4 ozs/plant indoors "only." Thats a pretty generous estimate.

Really?
I do not grow. But I have plenty of friends who do. I've lugged plenty of soil down stairs, transplanted lots of girls into larger pots and I've clipped a lot of leaves. I've even sprayed some soap on a few mites, unfortunately (boy thats a ton of work BTW). I've never seen an indoor soil grown plant with LESS than 3oz of finished dry buds. Seriously. Clipped, dried and harvested - no less than 3oz per plant. We cut some plants down last month that yielded an average 7.5 - 8oz per plant. It was all grown in big beds instead of round pots and it was all grown using extreme LST technique. None of the plants were more than 4 feet tall after 4 months of vegging and 10 weeks of flowering.
I was using "4oz per plant" as a guesstimate of what I thought most would consider average yield.

shoooot, you cant even present all the scientific and medical studies showing the benefits of mj as evidence that they are all liars:wtf:. its not admissable in the court of law. all the proof necessary to change the law and they wont allow us to use it to defend ourselves. quite the operation they got going. someone told me there is no writing in the constitution that allows them to collect taxes but if you try to use it as evidence in your tax case they would arrest you.

Very nice. What strain are these, or is that a trade secret? Our indica yield is about the same as yours...guess we don't know what we are doing either. The only strains where we got 3 or more ounces were from the sativas.

I meant no offense. I hope you didn't take my comments as an insult to you. I was just rambling.
Keep in mind many of the grows I've seen are either done using the LST method to extreme. Topped and topped again and pinned down and stretched out like a cargo net in large soil beds 4 feet long x 3 feet wide.
Or the plants are simply topped once (after the 5th or 6th set of leaves) and then allowed to grow to at least 5 feet tall before flowering. They are usually around 7 feet tall when harvested.
All those plants are vegged for 4 months and flowered for 2 months++
I know some people who veg for about 2 months and then flip to flowering. Plants end up about 4 feet tall when harvested. Those are yielding 2oz per plant.

No offense taken. I was serious, I don't really know what I'm doing (although I'm not really an idiot-I hope). It was my first grow, so I definitely have much to learn. If you click on my name you can find my log for this grow under the thread "First Grow" if you are curious about methodology. The strain is White Rhino from clones and they vegged for 7-8 weeks, resulting in 24-30 inch plants after 57 days of flower.

you vegg'd 8 weeks and only yeilded 33 g's per? you must be using cfl's or some low lighting/nutes? i know rhino and most of the other white strains.last time i ran it i got 9 oz per plant.dry with a 6 week veg flipped when they hit 18 inches tall.fimmed ended up with lil over 3ft bush with around 20 tops per plant.

I'm using 400w MHs in veg and a combo of 600w hps and 400w MH in flower. I'm using some old school organic nutes called Age Old supplemented in flowering with Budswel, a little calmag plus and molasses. No topping or training whatsoever so really just one main cola and a bunch of pretty small buds. Quality was apparently good though, as now people are lining up for the next batch.

Well if he has 224 plants, you can be assured that at least 80 of em were clones or vegging. Then another 15-20 plants in mother. Im guessing he was flowering maybe 90-130 out of that 224. So he was probably making some good money, but no where near the amount they are trying to make it out to be.....
Not to mention your forgetting money spent on nutrients, supplements, soil or hydro medium, cloning gel, grow plugs or rockwool, lights, fans, meters, trimming scissors, bags, dehumidifiers, humidifers, blowers, and all the other small things (chains, zipties, stakes, etc etc...).
So in the BIG picture sure it looks like hes a millionare. But first hand knowledge and experience can easily dismiss those claims....

yes genes are genes, but alot of what a plant does is dependant on the growing enviroment.out in nature it will only be so good without humans touch.you take that same strain"genes" into a controlled enviroment and give it the optimum conditions and you will maximize the plants growth.
as one of the biggest misconceptions as stated above and quote"Quantity will always be secondary to quality for me" as if you only can have 1 or the other. you can very much have both without compromise.
but then again what do i know you're the brains of this board so you know im just making all of this up.i mean how could i really know anything being that writing is'nt my forte....:D:jointsmile:
btw just to let people know most of what people get out there is a plant anywhere from mexi dirt 25% maybe of the plants potential and on up from there dependant on how it's grown. i know this for a fact as i had a friend that was getting mexi b4 and was trying to tell me the same bs about genes are genes. which they are but most are not grown right.i took some seed off of those and grew that same junk out and it was top primo meds so go fig.
ps bottom line is people that say it's a weed how hard can it be?well yea it is and if you took a handful of seed and just chunked them out in a feild you will see just how hard it really is for even just a few to sprout up. the ones that do take are not growing to it's full potential and most of those don't make it.as such are trees i have said this b4 too just think of how many seeds are dropped from say a pine tree.the germ rate is so low i'd say maybe 10% if that.so it's not as easy as people think in the wild.

Are you being sarcastic? Ive had three beat cops walk past me and friends smoking bubble hash out of a 3 foot custom roor and didn't even get so much as a second glance...
..and hempfest that takes place every year. I attended in 09 and it was a record attendance of some 400,000 people and weed being smoked and sold everywhere in sight.
I love washington, it is really a beautiful state and I like to make it up there at least for a week or two to camp and attend hempfest. I think its something everyone should do at least once.
