Hi All, I posted yesterday about my clones having red in their stems.
I was at the store and saw a very large thermomitor, so i purchased it.
My old thermomitor was reading 80 at day and 70 at night.
I just put this new one in the room today and went back one hour later and its reading 76,while the other(old)one is still reading 80???
Not sure what to do or beleive at this point.
Think i should go with the new because it readings are lower which may be the reason for the red stems, Hmmmmm!!!!!!
The harder you try the worst it gets.
Appreciate any and all feedback :S5:

my seedlings have red in their stem as well, do you know what could be causing it? The temps are around 73-75 degrees.

Thermometer placement greatly influences the readings. For one, there's always going to be hot spots. Also, if it's in direct light it will read higher...

ya like redtails said it depends where the thermometer is at.

also it is normal for seedlings to have red/brown until they get a little older thats when they look green.

(ive never had one come out green if so tell me what im doing wrong)

Mine are almost always red as well. I've always just guessed it was some sort of natural reaction, like a defense mechanism against - whatever - during its most vulnerable state.

Or perhaps a quick shot of natural nutes from the soil right at the beginning of growth does it?

Hmmmmmm :stoned:

It is because it is a female plant. NORMAL

I was thinking this red was normal? I have three seed plants and 2 clones. Although none of the "random" seed plants have red in the stems. Both the Durban poison and G-13 X Afgani clones have red in the stems. My temps never get over 76 deg F, and never drop below 73 Deg F.

Yesterday, I bought another thermometer that mounts on the wall and is reading 80 as the old one does.
The tall one that I purchased is still reading 76!
I'm going to go with the majority and say the room is at 80
Oh yea -the tall thermometer says it was Made in China-go figure!!!!!!!:S5:
