well, to recommend 'local', one would have to know where you are :D ... I buy my bulbs at '1000bulbs.com' ... great company, they're in Texas, and ship quickly ... their Customer Service is great, too, they stand behind their stuff ... if you need the entire lamp setups, I also like 'discount-hydro.com' ... :thumbsup:

Do you have a Home Depot or Lowes or Farm supply store? All those places will definitely have a 250w bulb... Now 400w or more get a bit harder depending on where exactly you live unless you like buying over the internet.
