Has anyone ever used a cloner called a Daisy Cloner, and if so what was your experience with it? The price point is attractive but I wanted to hear from someone who'd actually had real experience with it before deciding to purchase one or not.

Cops took one from me but only after I turned it into a bubble cloner. It has a huge water pump for a small container. The first couple times I tried it I loaded cuttings in and setup a timer for the spray pumps. The next day the water pressure had blasted the stems right off. I mean gone. I tried to get up with the company with no luck. Tried to adjust the pressure with no luck.
Many clone cuttings have died to bring you this technical data. Use it wisely.

Tiny I can't get your link to download. I had a Daisy 8 site cloner and they put too big of a water pump in it.

Well the cloner is up and running fine now after an initial glitch.I learned a very valuable lesson about an aeroponic pump. They're very sensitve to clogging up, therefore I will make sure that the thing is totally clean as well as my solution. That little oversight on my part cost me a few clones (at least three out of eight).

do you use any sort of media in this cloner? After all , it has net baskets.Any help is greatly appreciated.

Okay so if your using net pots then yeah you can use Hydroton or Vermiculite mixed with Hydroton, or Silica stone, rockwool etc. A bunch of options out there. You could just root the clone without the net baskets and use neoprene collars to suspend the cutting.

On this particular cloner ,you have no choice but to use the net pots ,otherwise the foam disks will fall through.I'm gonna try this first time without media and see. No substitute for hands-on experience I guess. Any other tips will be most appreciated.

Well no first hand just made one tho. so you can take the pots out and replace with neoprene plugs or make them out of something else if your just going to hold cuttings. It doesn't take first hand experience with that product to know how it operates.

No disrespect was intended whatsoever. The point of my response was to elicit information from someone who actually has used the cloner that I have.I am a hydro-newbie and my cloner came with no instructions, therefore ,the basis of my original question.I have never used an aeroponic cloner ,and knew that someone must have experience with the one I have.Trial and error produces solid results ,but I was seeking the advice of folks that have used a cloner similar to mine. Thank you for your response though. It helped.

Hey no offense taken, I just thought I would throw out some ideas that will work.
If you use the search feature a little bit you can find all the info needed on the very machine your speaking of(vs asking blind ?'s). I did that and its very clear after reading and seeing the pics and various thread discussions how it operates. What specifically are you stumped on? What do you already use in your new hydro hobby? Rockwool or Hydroton etc? Or have you not grown before, and currently your preparing to start growing and your at day one?
You already know the answer being that you mentioned it has "after all net pots".A high-pressure mist sprays and roots the cuttings within days is what the companies site says. They don't offer the manual on Botanicare's site but I am sure you could email them as well. Hydro newbs should understand basic clone theory and the materials involved soon enough. Who's running your actually hydro setup(bought a cloner so figured your already growing)? some or most of those principles and materials are the same. Check out the stickies under growing hydro section it makes it look sooo tempting. And they make it look so easy(I hate that). Happy growing either way!:hippy:

Hey also found this info on their site.
Simply dip the cutting in your choice of cloning hormone, place cutting in the neoprene collar and place in the two-inch pot.
Botanicare also suggests using a cloning solution and fungicide in the Clone Machine Reservoir.
Operate the machine for 24 hour periods until roots appear (3 to 10 days). Transplant into any desired grow substrate.
Clone Machines work best with 16-24 hours of Fluorescent lighting at eight-inch to twelve-inches. Misting leaves once or twice daily is also helpful or use an optional Humidome available with the 74 and 154 plant cloners.
Clone machine must be sterilized with disinfectant between crops.
Now that sounds pretty easy to me....its nice they include the neoprene caps I am guessing it holds the mist in nicely.

I am new to hydroponics as well as cloning (2 yrs exp.) and am still experimenting with both.I'm a die-hard dirt farmer but I was given this equipment because of a very special circumstance which is irrelevant to this.I have practically no investment in my setup which includes the cloner and a 4 station GH Waterfarm. It may well be that I just haven't found my sweet spot yet and gotten everything dialed in for the performance that I've been told was possible with this method, therefore,I ask questions. At this particular point ,I have not been impressed enough to abandon my tried and true. This is the first time I've tried the cloner and have watched a few videos on youtube ,but they left specific questions unanswered.I truly do appreciate your help and patience and thank you very much. Not sure if I'll remain a hydro grower or not , so ,just in case ,I've got a backup crop in my soil (soil-less medium). I mix my own and it seems to work consistently well.

Talk about cool friends- giving you the gear:thumbsup:. Dirt farming is fun.
The DIY stuff on here and Youtube is changing people's thoughts on how hard or easy Mj can really be to make. I was going to buy that Daisy cloner but justanotherbozo's stickie made me try just to make a simple bubble cloner for 28 bucks vs the 70 places want for that cloner. If your going to run a soil and hydro at the same time that would make a sweet log! Cheers
