you forgot "blah blah contradicting an earlier speech blablah"

lol.. was just reading two speeches, one where he tells Africans in Ghana to stop blaming the effects of colonialism for their problems, then another speech where he is telling Muslims in Egypt there is a problem caused by the effects of colonialism.. was kind of weird. (I am of course loosely wording my rendition of the speeches)

^ oh yeah, thanks, left out that part. :D

I listened to General Petraeus this morning on CNN and he was much more informative. We search, seek and destroy (or run off) the irreconcilables and we make our acquiesce with those who would like to come in from the cold.

I'm still curious how we are going to defeat an enemy, that WANTS to die, and, defeated the Soviet Union (who did NOT fight according to any rules, they slaughtered everything in sight) :wtf:

Great points. Not to mention, we can't beat them because we won't even identify who they are. You only win a war in one way. Identify your enemy and decimate them. You can't win by trying to make them friends.

blah blah blah...........people said all the exact same BS before the WILDY successful surge in Iraq.....and this surge will net the same results regardless of who the President is. It wasn't as forthright of a speech as I had hoped but all in all I thought it was a good speech. The mostly foreign fighters will get killed right off cause they are uneducated and poorly trained religous losers and finatics...who like people have said...came to die....and we will give them their wish lol. and the pakistani and afghan taliban will hold out longer but their ideology is so played out and opressive that it to will eventually die out god willing.

colonialism? Apologizing for it? What a joke.......GET OVER IT. Now wonder Iran, North Korea, and Russia think Obama is a bitch. Like a little schoolboy playing in the Big Leagues. I mean seriously....Putin of russia...the former KGB trained killer..... must wanna laugh in Baraks face everytime....he has to think what a pushover this dude is as he puff's on his Cuban.:pimp:

I keep expecting O to wake up and realize that the way the world truly is, is not as his ideals have taught him. He's looking like a damn fool walking around the world. Ever notice how he turns his nose up all the time. He's talking to these leaders as if they admire him or they fear him. They're freaking laughing in his face.

Wake up Mr President, you're dealing with experienced pros, of which you are not. I'm sure Putin is shaking in his boots over O. They're thinking,, "lets get as much out of the USA as we can before this guy leaves office, it's a blessing"

It has been a truly fascinating first year of Obama's presidency hasn't it?? If you woulda told me 1 year ago that America's forces in Iraq would remain the same and troop size in Afghanistan would double under Obama I woulda told you you were crazy!!! Im actually very pleased with his choice......I got a tad pissed it took so long.....but he chose wisely I believe. The situation on the ground will determine when the forces come home.....any lefty that believes his timeline is a fool.....he just said that to appease Moveon and the DailyKosites so there isnt a full rebellion amongst the die hard leftwingnuts

and with that in mind........you have to wonder.....whats Obama got in store for Iran? Maybe more than we think? Look how he dealt with those jack-ass somali pirates.....he greenlighted them real quick. He is giving McChrystal 30,000 troops on top of 30,000 to go on offensive in Afghanistan....if Im Iran.....im paying attention.

I don't know what to believe yet. When your generals request more troops and you put it off for 100+ days and instead focus on health care that nobody wants, there is something wrong in this picture. People die while he waits. That's cold and unfeeling.

In the 100 days that the troops were waiting for Obama to make up his mind on sending more. 116 troops have died, waiting for reinforcements. Not exactly a decisive commander in chief.

 yeah, I'll give him that. that was awesome!! and i didn't even vote for the dude.

I hope Afghan can go well and peace will break out now as it did in Iraq.

As far as what do we do to an enemy who wants to die? I don't know . . kill 'em? And the Ruskies lost because they of the way they fought and because of some really good stinger missles delivered from the US f'in A.
:s4:

given to our good friends, the Taliban. :stoned:

True that.

I noticed Obama looked pained to give that speech.....like he didnt wanna be there. He coulda used a little cowboy in him last night. Rally the troops.......the Marines are the premier fighting force on the planet, that should give the President a certain swagger. Winning the civilian populations mind wont be hard.....is this...or female castration, no music, no school, no work, public executions and limb removal, and lots of wierd men with beards touching boys. I made the last part up...but hey....ya never know.

Hey......I was wondering....there has GOT to be some young baseball talent in Palestine! All the footage of those kids throwing rocks at the israelis...there are some good arms over there.

What I'm curious about is, are our troops so poorly trained that we need 100,000 of them to capture or kill 100 Al-Qaeda soldiers? It sounds pretty insane to me and I would think it makes the job easier for the guerilla fighters to target large groups of American soldiers.
Our military has truelly run off the tracks.

^ yeah, thats kinda the way I see it too, KillerWeed. I don't doubt for one second our military training is the best anywhere, but I do think we should consider whether sending more troops in country just makes them a bigger target. :twocents: Joe Biden had an idea of limited high tech war from outside of the country. I wonder why we can't do that.

I'm not defending the nwo or anything, but I'm guessing their argument would something like . . . it is all of our collective responsiblity to carry on the momentum of peace and security for all peoples everywhere on this earth. or something like that. :stoned:

Point well taken and regardless of what side of the political issue you are on, has to be addressed. My thoughts would be.. 2000 years and this country has never had a real government, has been nothing more than tribal hill fighting thugs. And guess what? They have kicked out every army to ever go in there. There are more than 100 to be honest to the argument though. This is one of those no-win no-lose situations. We either need to go in and level the entire country,, or get the fuck out. There is no politically correct way to defeat this enemy.

absolutely. Just to clarify, when General Petraeus was talking about the enemy "coming in from the cold" he was talking about the strategic unmanned drone strikes on key individuals, and their soldiers surrendering to allied forces.

Kinda like cutting off the head of a snake and then capturing the body as it tries to wiggle off. :)

^ no doubt. they should give the award for best supporting actor to Richard Holbrooke, President Obama's special representative to Afghanistan, Pakistan for his performance in describing the Presidents "Historic" speech. :rastasmoke: best actress nod goes to HillBillary, for the 17th consecutive year. :D
