I topped my plant about a week ago and i did it at a 180 degree angle.I think I stopped it from growing anymore. Its about a foot tall.

Topping wont stop it from growing but it will slow things down for a while. Give it time and you'll see new growth.

topping forces the plant to grow horizontal for a bit (make it bushy) but will return to vertical growth soon (get taller)

Is it bushy or has it split upwards yet? I'm thinking of doing this.:hippy:

I'm curious as well.
A friend who used to grow outdoors in a corn field said they would top all plants after they had three sets of leaves. This (he said) caused the plant to split at the cut and form two branches growing up. Then again after the new growth had three sets of leaves they would top BOTH the new tops. AGAIN (he claimed) they would split into four (two from each of the topped tops).
He said they did this to not only make the plants bushier and more productive, But also to keep them short enough to hide among the corn.

also if you are interested in topping, you may want to check out LST or low stress training. it IMO is more effective because you arent stressing the plant by cutting which causes it to stop growing for a couple days. rather you are redirecting the upwards energy outwards.
Check out my white widdow mother which has been lst'd. < 3 weeks old from clone.
