It's a little hard to tell to be honest. Are the temps dropping at night?
Be sure to give the plants a light shake when it rains, shake off as much water as possible.
Keep an eye on it over the next few days and see what colour it turns. If it goes gray then yes.. it is. :(

were these cats recently moved outdoors?
i had taken some flowering girls from a friends indoor (under a 600hps)
and threw them on my porch to finish flowering
after 2 days of real sun i noticed buds turning purplish, (i was thinking suntan)
but they went mostly green again
hope someone can give you an answer and not answer with a question :)

they have been outside since day 1...
i read that the fungus spreads rapidly and i dont want it to move to all the other buds if bud rot is the actual problem..
somebody please help

Well if you must, you could break a flowering top open where the colour is appearing. You'll be able to tell if it's brownish or gray inside. If it is mold and you're seeing it on the outside then you should see it on the inside as well. I would still give it another day though and simply monitor it. If it seems to spread quickly then you know what you need to do .
Best of luck, hope it's just a genetic thing or a temp thing.

I believe so, you're looking for a "dead" look as well, if it appears that it's simply the pigment of the calyx then that's probably all it is.
Do you know the genetics?
Has it been getting cooler over the past week?
How long has it been flowering?
Purple and grey can look pretty similar i guess but that appears more purple than grey.
Keep an eye on it and see how it goes, you'll know in the next day or two for sure.

If you think it may be mold you need to separate it from the rest of the buds. Also, if there's a chance of mold and you've got it drying you may want to add some heat and light for a couple of days. You may sacrifice potency and some smoothness but its better than losing everything to mold if there's a chance of it.

Trim all your fan leaves and get rid of the large leaves from the flowers. Less foliage will make it dry faster and remove vectors for infection.

It's a fungus. I had this same exact problem in new york for years. In the later stages growth becomes twisted and gangly and the purple areas are everywhere. The buds don't get as big, but they don't rot. They are more prone to mold while drying, though. This year I had one bud that had the problem, but in the past I've had entire crops affected. Since I changed grow spots I've barely had any. When I used tohave a big problem with it fungicides helped. It doesn't go away, but new shoots are healthy. If you got it in flowering what's done is done really. Smoking it still does the trick, but I wouldn't smoke it. I wondered if it also might be a mutation. The seeds that came from it grew out with the same wrinkly, twisted leaves and purple patches.

watch out for caterpillars too, they will get in between buds on colas and eat/shit and the top will be destroyed. I have lost 1/2 of 3 tops already, but I killed the culprits
