Hey everyone. Just wanted to post some pics of my current grow, I'll try to keep it brief unless there is a question to answer. But a bit on the specs:

Seeds from Greenhouse, WW femenized, didn't have that color coating on them though.

400w HPS and 400w metal halide, I am switching them out trying to get the best of both worlds. Used MH for first 2 weeks to limit stretch, switch to HPS for mid flower 3 weeks, then back to MH to finish em off.

Using BioBizz All-Mix system, Biogrow, Bloom, and TopMaxx, and Earthjuice Assist at each feeding. Feedings every other watering. Watering every 3 days, approx 2L per 5gal container.

Here's a couple pics of the plants on day 17 of flowering, and a pic of the setup. One tent is flowering, the other is veg/clone. These were vegged for approx 50 days before triggering flowering.

I love em, plus, I don't have to rebuild when I move. Good thing cause these 2 tents will be in Texas before the year is out. WooHooo. Maybe someday, somehow, you can smoke what comes out of em? Stranger things have happened. :stoned:

Hey now Irydyum...

I grew some WW back in the 90's. Nice strain. Yours looks great, keep it up.

I couldn't help but notice that the two tents are different Mfrs...
I have a DR. if I may, I'd like to ask who made yours, which do you like better and why.

The one on the left is the DR120 Darkroom. The one on the left is the homebox xl.

My growstore was carrying the homebox, then I went to get another and all they had was the darkroom.

I do notice small light emitting from my veg tent (darkroom with curved openings) when the light is on, so I can't account for it being light tight. I just exercise light discipline in the room with the tents so I know in my application it has no problems.

I have clambaked the homebox xl tho, and I can assure you it is light tight, i'm just not sure of their availability since my store switched carriers.

Both have the same hardware, venting and that stuff, but the Darkroom is silver mylar like on the inside, and the Homebox is white visqueen plastic like.

I like the Homebox better because it has extra layers of material everywhere there is a seam. Overlaps on the zippers and such. The only downside to it is you can only access it from one side. Not a biggie for me as you can see in the pic.

I'm reeeeeallly stoned so I hope this makes sense. I like the Homebox better, but they both serve their purpose fine. My only worry is if you will have light leaking in on a Darkroom, I would set it up and test it thoroughly before putting anything precious in it.

I think I can post this link for you here Shake, if I can't, then I'm sorry modgods, we can take it out.

The Dark Room (http://www.altgarden.com/store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=835)

This is where mine came from. I have met everyone in the store and they are all fantastic people, that's the only reason I keep going back.

Hey sorry to stir things up a bit, but what are you looking to accomplish with the MH after the stretching stops....I understand that some use that "blue" spectrum to keep the plants from stretching so much, but from what I heard (correct me if i'm wrong) the blue during flowering tends to give you more of the "fluffy" type buds rather than tight dense buds. I myself don't see any benefit from putting the MH back in after mid flowering with the HPS.

Sorry to be such a pain in the @$$ but I'm curious sometimes!

I have clambaked the homebox xl tho.

I wonder if there is a videotape of that shit somewhere?

Looking sick my friend and I can't wait till its that time.

The internode streach is very slight, that combined with the huge leaves shows the dominate indica genetics...(you must use the Franco from Greenhouse Seeds voice)

I have used the MH to flower an entire crop and I don't think the buds were as dense as the HPS, but I do feel they were much more flavorful, and the resin production was higher. This vs. a previous grow of same clones under HPS only.

My thought is to add the HPS now to increase production while the plant is in that "hyperdrive" flowering mode. HPS has the most lumens, so I figure give it the most energy when it really needs it. Then switching back to MH when the growth slows again to push out as much resin as possible. I believe putting the MH back on it with the UV that is missing from HPS, will accomplish that. Thus hopefully, the best of both worlds. Plus I have both lights sitting there so I figured why not.

I'm not telling anyone else to do it by any means, nor am I saying that it will for sure change anything. The stretch may just happen when the HPS comes in, screwing me on keeping em tight or something else to nullify what I have done. Who knows, I'm just putting up the truth, and the whole truth of what I'm up to here.

I don't mind pain in the ass questions at all. It's the stupid ones I mind. "Can my cfl produce like HPS?", or "I'm running 46 watts of CFL and my bottom leaves are dying, HELP!". Those kinda bug me depending on the day.

Yea, I feel ya on those type questions! And what your saying makes sense too. I did hear that blue is supposed to help in resin production, but never tried it myself. I have a CFL grow and do have some of the 6500K spectrum in there as well because I heard it was good for the buds as well. I'm still really trying to get my gardening in tune, but I will learn the details soon enough.

Looking good by the way! I've read a lot of your posts and seen all your attachments (i.e. pictures) and I must say you got a nice setup and your plants seem to be loving it! Whatever your doing, keep on keepin on!

Not much new to report here except the widow is living up to it's name. Its already producing a bunch of trichromes and today is only day 20. You can see the pores on the big fan leaves where resin is readying it's exit. Crazy. I don't know if these pics will let you see em, but it's there.

They look kinda small in the pics to me, but they are 3 feet tall. They are in 5 gallon square containers. Very compact tho, I only topped one of em (pics of her soon), but all the single colas secondary growth is VERY short. Hopefully it all stays as one huge cola. Only time will tell there.

What up? All is quiet around here as expected. Just thought I'd throw up a couple pics. I'm really baked so I'm not positive at this moment how long it's been since the last post, but I know I haven't hit halfway through flowering yet. Prob 26/17 i'd imagine.

I wish we had smellovision, the widow smells fantastic. Can't wait to find out how she tastes and smokes. Anyways, anyone dropping by, thanks.

I wonder what those babys would look like outside. The grow tents look easy too. I wonder if i could fit in one though? Its something i could use in my room.

You must spread some rep before repping Phatsesh again. Thanks for showing up in the MH/HPS argument over there. I was thinking to myself, if i had plants under a 1K and a 400, OF COURSE the ones under the 4 and not quite under the 1K yielded worse. The ones under the footprint of the 1K have more fucking light. With that said, i'm just glad someone else backed me up for a change instead of the alternative.

Shake, you my dawg. I like giving you a hard time cause you take constructive criticism well, and for some reason you understand me. I'm hoping to be there around the beginning of october or so. I'll do anything in my power I can for you, I'm losing my protege here when I go so I'll def need another right hand (no one could ever replace you brother). I'm planning on just that. I tend to be an early harvester because I like to be more active while baked, but this time I want the MAX trichs to come out of the widow. I want it to look like that famous pic that GH sells you on when you buy it.

I'm assuming you have grown GHWW before, how long did it take you to get to 5%? I'm hoping it can be done within 9 weeks, I'm within a moving deadline and have a little leeway but not much. I think 10 weeks will be the absolute max I have to finish em.

Have you ever messed with trying to speed em up at the end shortening the days or anything? Anything you can share about the widow with me would be appreciated. Thanks man:thumbsup:

5% amber WW trichs ...causes me to crash like a 747 after about 2 hours...I like that...

I have never grown GreenHouse WW...only Nirvana WW. One, is probably as good as the other?...but, there maybe a difference in the genetics?

5% amber took 11 weeks for me. My plants basically stop growing after 9 weeks and the final 2 weeks were hell to wait on..:(..but, it was worth it to me.

I feed and water to the point of starvation during the whole grow...so the fan leaves get sucked dry of nitrogen after about 7 weeks flowering. At 9 weeks, I have zero fan leaves; water only and very little at that. Just enough to keep it alive.
This makes harvesting, drying, curing a snap......more amber MAY appear during the drying?..I never checked it after the chop.

Crazy, looking at those pics I would say that GH and Nirvana have the same genetics. Even down to the way the leaves look that are sticking out of the buds. I love being able to see the details like that.

Thanks for the info DP, I can only hope to yield near what those HOGS look like they gave you. Anyways, who cares what color they are when theyre cured, there goin down either way!!!

Thought I would share some bud porn. Day 47 and they are still putting on mass. Quite a few white pistils still popping out, a couple of the girls are about 50/50 white/brown pistils, but trichromes aren't nearly ready for harvest yet. Majority of them are cloudy, with some clear still, I'm looking at about 2-3 more weeks. Couple deficiencies showing up now, but with the mass they have already put on, and nearing harvest, I'm not too concerned with them. Last feeding of bloom should likely be in the next 4 days, then it'll be straight old H2O for the homestretch.

I'm going to bring it down to 10 hours of light on monday, and I'm planning on changing back to my MH to finish them off for their last 10 days or so. Wish me luck

Shortening light hoping to speed up the finishing process. I don't have all the time I would like to give them, so I'm trying to trick them, that's all. I have read theories about flowering time as a function of daily light, and they seem to point toward less light giving a quicker finish. I'm not sure if there is merit to it, but I don't have time to make 75 or 80 days on them.

Going back to the MH for the UV that's missing in the HPS. It's always been my understanding that trichromes are in part a defense mechanism against UV, so I want to make sure they put out as much as possible. I know the yield is good if I harvested today, so now I'm concentrating on getting every last bit of resin they have to offer.

You are much too kind. If you do try widow, i would go with nirvana's widow over greenhouse. People around here seem to get some beautys from nirvana, and I have been having an issue with greenhouse's femmed seeds. Seems the majority are just itching to hermie out, current grow included.

I have said it before and I'll say it again, know what you are getting into when you purchase femenized seeds. I have gotten some wonderful smoke, but damn it's scary gettin there.
