View Full Version : Indoor Grow Recovery

Yo whats up all.. I just moved this thread over to the Indoor Grow Category because the grow which was started for the outdoors had to be moved inside for fear of woodchucks lol. The last one around ate all my seedlings when I was hardening them for the outdoors.
I had them set up for a week or so under a desk with a couple of low wattage CFL's and now I have placed them in an under closet in a bureau. There I have 200 watt soft white grow bulbs that I found in the basement along with my uncles old vegetable growing stuff. There is a fan for ventilation and as you can see by the pictures there is a cellophane type material... I hear you could use a space blanket for the walls to reflect light in a good way as opposed to aluminum foil.
A question to add- I have a couple 20 watt CFL bulbs lying around.... Should I put those in there as well or would it not even make a difference?
Here are some pics as the progress goes..
1-2) This is the grow closet I prepared. (Not sure about the temps yet but I am in the process of getting a little thermometer for the room)
3) Pic of the little babies which will hopefully grow nice and strong.
4) A mix of the babies and the 3 week old plant which was the only survivor of the woodchuck attack.
5) Close up of the 3 week old.

Update: The soil used if there is any question was just regular potting soil that I found in the barn... How long should I wait before I transplant the babies into larger pots? Should I wait for them to get a little root-bound first?
Also, seeing as this grow is just for fun kinda thing for me (a way to get the experimental phase outta my system) I started the larger plant in 12/12 today just to see if it would start showing me some pre-flowers in the next couple days. I'm hoping to keep it rather short and stout for a plant.
Anyways, updates to come, please feel free to comment!

As of last night I hung the lights a bit higher in the cabinet by taking out the drawers that were present. Give the plants a bit more space to grow. The temps are currently running from 70-75 degrees F. Today I transplanted the babies into larger pots that they should be able to continue the rest of their lives in. The big plant that is growing apart from these just sprouted tiny ass little sacs near at the 3rd and 4th nodes of the plant (on opposing sides of each other on the plant interestingly enough). Are there any recommendations or comments on how to improve this as much as I can. I want to give these guys the best growing environment as I can within the price boundaries.
Hope the big plant turns out to be female. Will have pictures in the next few days when more growth is present.

Here are some pics as of today and yesterday when I transplanted the babies... All is well so far, but haven't seen any pre-flowers yet on the big plant, its only been a few days though.

Hello all.
Updates as they are..... I just added 3 20 watt CFL's to the mix... the plants seem to like the added light because I saw a lot of new growth in the past few days.
Here's some pics:
The first couple are shots of the cabinet with its extra lighting
The 3rd and 4th are ones of the big plant showing the FIM I did recently
The last is just a random pic of the stereo I use to play music for the little buggers. They seem to like Slightly Stoopid a lot lol.

Oh and I forgot to mention that you can kinda see the little sacs on the big plant in pic 4 a node near the top. Im guessing those are pre-preflowers... Is there any way of making a guess as to male or female, or not until they show hairs will I know they are fems?

True True... SLIGHTLY IS DA BOMB
What my goal is for that larger plant (prolly not gonna happen tho) is to get some really really early harvest buds for the slightly concert in Mass in mid august.

Can anyone tell me if they know what is to come from those sacs at the 3rd node from the top.... They look like female preflowers but I have not seen any white hairs emerge yet. I will have more updates tomorrow.

Good to know.... I can't get a better pic unless I get a better camera, and at this point it requires money which I also am in short supply of so at this point a better pic is not gonna happen lol. I have also had a plant show these sacs at the nodes (a grow I did a while ago in a window sill) where the sacs showed up but didn't show any hairs until a week or so later. I'm hoping for the best.
I was lookin around and saw this picture of some female preflowers and compared it to what I saw on my plant minus the white hairs.

They seem pretty much identical so I'm not sure what to expect.

Cfls are workin great... the kids love em. I have some more pics which I will add tomorrow to show new growth.... I think the bigger plant likes the cfls as well. showing lots of new node growth. More of the sacs are present as well... Im gonna check them tonight and pray for a girl!

Pictures updates.. Sorry they may be crap... I turned off the autofocus last night when I was wicked high and forgot how to turn it back on... Still no signs of a female, but at least they don't look like balls quite yet. Im thinking the plant was just not mature enough yet. Oh well, we'll see what happens.

Hey all.
Here are some recent pics as of the past day or so. It seems that when I do not add updates to this site, growth from these plants takes off. I found some "Tuppercare" Brand liquid plant nutes in the barn and watered them all once or twice with a solution.... They seem to like it a lot.
I would say that these kids are in their second week of true growing since their previous box did not have sufficient light for them to actually veg grow. Now they seem happy and growing fast.
I pretty much gave up with the bigger plant that I had for various reasons.... It looks like a male, and I want to focus my time on the plants that are all around the same stage in growth.
1) The ladies in their box
2) All of them together (lookin quite sexy I may add)
3) More closeups
4) The legacy that was left behind from the gopher that was recently taken from my property (uh oh)

I also am in the process of getting a 400 Watt HPS light. I think Im gonna get it in the next week or two so I can have it right around the time I put the ladies into flower. I will keep the HPS light in the top of the cabinet and have the Flouros on the walls to promote growth under the canopy.

I just topped all of the plants today... They were each showing 5 nodes up to the last set of fan leaves. All the nodes have good veg growth coming out of them, but I am going to prepot the plants tomorrow and they are going to remain outdoors in a nice spot near my barn that gets plenty of good sunlight each day..... Hopefully one will stay indoors and a prospect plant but who knows..... Pics tomorrow

Here some new pics.... I just moved 4 of them outside for shits and giggles and also to make room for one plant that would stay indoors.... All are looking very well and are 3 days into 12/12. Seeing very small preflowers at some nodes. I think most of the plants are showing alternating nodes at 1 place or another. :) Good sign I guess. The one that is staying indoors has a great abmount of space now to grow big and strong. Theres about 350 watts of mixed CFL and Flouros on it to keep it happy. Anyways here they are.
The ones on the outside we taken early in the day which is why there was that shadow covering 2 of them. They still get great amounts of light.

Just went outside today and found a couple white hairs on a one of the plants... a closeup will reveal if a second one has hairs. Still waiting on the other two. Pics to come. Good news!

Hey all, it's July 15th and the kids are in their second week of being outside in the changing light and dark cycles....
I discovered one female a week ago showing one white hair sticking straight out of a node (5th node I think). A few days later another one shows a hair that looks suspiciously female... Two others are unknown atm.
Here some pics:
The first is showing the kids outside in the beautiful sun. The plant on the far left is my first girl, and the other suspected girl is the one on the right. The other two are the unknowns.
The second pic is the node showing the hair but I highly doubt you can see it because of the shitty quality of the camera....and cameraman

Hey all I haven't been keeping this thread going because Im workin alot but I checked on the 4 Outdoor plants today and was happily surprised to see little sacs with white hairs comin out on all but 1... this one Im pretty sure is going to show flowers soon because it was beat up a bit by bugs but is much healthier now.
I am taking my camera home today to get pics and will have an update soon.
Have a cigar for the girls!
