Clone question

I'm growing 12/12 from seed due to cab size and no veg room.
Can you take a clone, goop it up, put into a rockwool cube...then put it right back to flowering (12/12)?
Curious if this would work...or does the clone need 24/0 until roots show?

I have cloned at 12/12 from the beginning. It works, you will just get small yield per plant, but if you have enough plants, well, who cares? I am more concerned with yield per watt, or yield per square foot of space. Per plant doesn't matter to me.

Although, there are states with plant limits. I wasn't thinking of that when I posted.
