Hi,

I have a wilma 8 system with about 1 foot plants. The flood pieces shoot out 8 liters of water in 10 minutes, my question is, how many times a day to flood the system and for how many minutes for one flood?

And should I put the flood pieces shooting straight into the rockwool start block, the block is about two inches wide and 4-6 inches deep?

Thanks alot.

I like that setup, going to have to look into making one.

Don't put the flood tube into the rockwool just and inch or so away. So it doesn't keep the rockwool soaked down all the time it could cause root rot..

If the hydrtron net pots drain out and never hold water you can run 24/7 but if it floods and stay for a bit you may need to flood 2 to 5 times aday. It's a learning curve that you have to tweak in. You know when your plants are happy and when not. Alao you may have to increase when plants get lagre or decrease when small.

Keep a good eye out and let us know for others to learn. I'm sure others will ring in too. So take it all in and make us proud.

I don't beleave in luck, so cool runnings to ya, mon.

when I grew with Hydroton pebbles, in large buckets, I had the DRIP system cut on for 15 minutes, anywhere from 'every 2 hours', or longer ... if memory serves me right, I settled on 15 minutes, 'every 4 hours' ... Hydroton holds a lot of water, doesn't drain off as fast as you'd think ... and, you're flooding with a lot more solution, than I did, with just a drip-ring, you should be fine ... keep your reservoir aerated well, too ...

I have plants sitting in hydroton a 10" pot hi and about 6" square. I run 1/4" hose into each one and let them rip. You could also use flood and drain, running the 'flood' about 1/3 to 1/2 the height of the pot, run that 15 min. every four hours.
