12/12 Schedule since seed

I have just became a medical mj patient, and I am looking for some advice on a growing question: A friend of mine offered to give me a plant that is 1 month old, grown from seed. The plant is about 2 - 2 1/2' tall and is now starting to flower. I have been told the plant has always been on a 12/12 light schedule. Should I take the plant and keep the light schedule it is on or can I try to revert to veg growth by increasing the light to either 16/8 or 18/6? If I continue w 12/12, should I expect a weak crop or will it take just as long to completely flower like a plant grown for 4 months on 18/6 and then 12/12?? I'm just not 100% sure what direction to head as I have never encountered anything like this

You can put it back on veg 18/6. It will slow down the process. But you won't get much out of a plant that was on 12/12 since germinated. I would put it back to flower and try and get a few clones off of it.
