how to make plants bushy?

i have heard of cutting the top off or branches but no one really seems to know what to do, can anyone help me? my plants are about a foot tall and almost two months but not bushy at all.

If you cut the top, you also need to cut the side branches that shoot up too. It will help stop further growth up top. Pinching a stem will cause your plant to bush out.
