View Full Version : I have been seeing with closed eyes - ?astral connection?

i have had an interesting phenomena occur a bunch lately. While laying in bed either trying to fall asleep or upon a slight waking during the night, I will find my self looking around my room or at some specific aspect of it. There is something not quite "normal" about it which my mind's language interprets as "improper consistency" of the matter. That often leads me to realize that my eyes are closed.
If I open my eyes I find that what my physical eyes then see is perfectly superimposed over what my mind's eye saw. The "improper consistency" of matter feels like it could best be explained by a distortion caused from looking through my eyelids.
I feel quite confident that I am not dreaming when I am seeing through my eyelids. It is too smooth of a transition from having eyes closed to eyes open. The fact that I have also stayed awake after the experience leads me to rule out a "false awakening."
I just had it happen the other night while I slept on the floor because of a sore back. This was the first night I ever slept on the floor in this house so I had NEVER woken from that visual perspective of my room. That makes me skeptical of it being my mind's recall from many times of waking to the same view of the room.
I am wondering if it might be an overlapping of astral sight upon my consciousness' return to the physical body awareness... or just some trick of the mind. Anyone else have similar experiences? Thoughts anyone? :stoned:

once while lying in bed, i couldnt sleep so i began meditating.
I decide to try focusing on one thing, and started with my breathing, but that seemed too distracting, so too was my hear beat...
So i decided on light. i would focus on what light is, the concept of light, the idea, what it looks like, sounds like, what it would feel like and all that...
Eventually after seeing a very bright white light enter my mind, shatter into infinite pieces yet grow in intensity, shards flying about reflecting light off of light, i saw my room as though through an old fashioned film projector, but running too slow that you can count the frames...
and THEN i opened my eyes. i was a little confused there haha, but i realized that my mind had breached the physical boundaries of sight and allowed me to see beyond my eyes.

Well... it already happened a lot with me, after i started to learn about astral projection and meditation techniques.
Usually i was lying in my bed, trying to astral project or meditate, then i would "awake" and "open my eyes". I could see my room as i usually do, but i was unable to move and also i got a strange feeling in the eyes, like if i were forcing them to open but were unable to do it, like if i were deadly sleepy and couldnt keep them open... so i remained in this state for a while, until i actually "wake up", or rather, open physically my eyes, that were closed indeed, and be able to move my physical body.

Sounds like you could be experiencing what is called remote viewing something that been tried by the CIA. Here's a link. remote viewing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remote_viewing)

Sounds to me like you have too much time on your hands and a fertile imagination :D

Astral projection and remote viewing are similar, but not exactly the same thing. It is real, I can assure you. I have done it, we all have done it, many times, but we are usually not aware of it. You can do it deliberately, with practice.

You can't make claims without supporting it with documented evidence of controlled tests , if even one person could prove it I would be less sceptical.
It's funny how all the psychics and seers all seem to lose thier powers when they are under close scrutiny. :D

Today i had an experience like this... i was half sleeping, lying on my stomach, and i started to notice my bedrooms floor, where my mattress was on... it was like i was becoming more aware of it, like if it were a part of me, or like i was noticing/percieving it with a part of me... then this perceptions started to create visual thoughts, images in my mind... i concentrated to keep seeing this images, and they became almost like actual images, so i felt almost like if i were actually looking to my bedrooms floor... i could feel there was a difference, because this images, differently the ones from the physical world, required that my attention were focused to exist... it was something like one who wears glasses, then need to look at something without them, and so has to strain the eyes to keep the image focused... i could feel that i had to "strain" a part of me to keep the image in my mind... anyway... i kept "looking" at the floor and noticed even minute details on it, like some small strands of hair, particles like great sand grains, everything that usually was unnoticeably to me but usually made women cringe like "this house is f*cking dirty it needs be vacuumed right now!"...
Then the image changed, and i think i also started to dream, or the dreams mixed with this images, and soon after it i woke up.
This experiences are not so unusual (at least for me)... for this degree of "intensity"/"reality", i usually get them like once or twice a month... if they were less "intense", the frequency is greater, like once/twice in a week... also, i almost always know how is the weather (sunny/cloudy/rainy etc) before fully waking... like when im half sleeping and half conscious before waking i know how it is... and it isnt by the normal vision because i only sleep with my face covered to avoid seeing any outside light... i feel almost like if i were able to percieve/see/whatever how is outside my room while sleeping... like if its walls werent able to hide the outside from view... its very weird. I remember many "dreams" (dont know if they were actuall dreams or something else) where i felt i could actually see the outside "through" my bedrooms walls... or maybe like if i were actually outside and thus seeing the outside as i would see if i were there (probably over the ceiling)...
"And it makes me wonder..."

how about when your lightly asleep, like to the point that your not even really sleeping more of a day dream, like your minds wandering, and if it was something really cool or important you could get up no problem cause your not really asleep? well has anyone been in that state, and your in a horror situation, and you scream, but you cant quite hear yourself, its super muffled, because you were screaming physically not just in your mind? like and it slowly becomes louder until you wake up and your screaming?

watch us make claims without supporting it with evidence, what i think you're saying is, "don't expect us to believe your BS" :PPP
har...
but yeah, I don't discount that psychics under any scrutiny at all often end up boomtang. Of course there may be a scientific explanation like, providing identical circumstances that'd stand up to scientific scrutiny are hard..
That people don't have control over the ability it just turns up at random intervals...
I've had some crazy experiences i've seen shit that'd make most people turn white ... something is going on IMO re astral projection, it's likely internal.. why everyone thinks psychic is telepathy or some sort of amazing ability to "know everything" . Get real :D Astral projection is a trick of the mind.. maybe more but definately science could validate that much...
Peace,
and my 5 cents!

one reason psychic ability may not hold up to scientific testing (besides that most people are faking it) could be the fact that the observer interacts and effects the outcome of what is being observed. maybe psychic abilities truly do work when all viewers believe and there is someone with genuine talent/ability?

forgot to respond to Coelho...
sounds like you are describing some pretty similar instances. it has been awhile since i posted this and i have paid more attention to it. i have noticed two things.
1. i've experienced it and noticed an ever so slight openness or quick opening of my eyes even though i am on the sleep border
2. i've experienced it in much the way Coelho described his experience... more of a "knowing" so vivid it produces picture that is "explorable"
