i have had an interesting phenomena occur a bunch lately. While laying in bed either trying to fall asleep or upon a slight waking during the night, I will find my self looking around my room or at some specific aspect of it. There is something not quite "normal" about it which my mind's language interprets as "improper consistency" of the matter. That often leads me to realize that my eyes are closed.

If I open my eyes I find that what my physical eyes then see is perfectly superimposed over what my mind's eye saw. The "improper consistency" of matter feels like it could best be explained by a distortion caused from looking through my eyelids.

I feel quite confident that I am not dreaming when I am seeing through my eyelids. It is too smooth of a transition from having eyes closed to eyes open. The fact that I have also stayed awake after the experience leads me to rule out a "false awakening."

I just had it happen the other night while I slept on the floor because of a sore back. This was the first night I ever slept on the floor in this house so I had NEVER woken from that visual perspective of my room. That makes me skeptical of it being my mind's recall from many times of waking to the same view of the room.

I am wondering if it might be an overlapping of astral sight upon my consciousness' return to the physical body awareness... or just some trick of the mind. Anyone else have similar experiences? Thoughts anyone? :stoned:
