We all know pretty much exactly how it happened.
Anslinger pulled an asshole move and fucked us all over.
but the thing i dont understand is why people give into stigma mentality.
there is a stigma against smoking pot.
there are many stigmas, none of them can i understand, not the stigma itself, but the mentality to actually enforce a stigma!
yeah, drinking can kill your liver, but it's the individual's choice. why worry about it? it's their liver, not yours, why would you be so concerned as to take it as far as violence?
When i say violence, i do not mean beating a drunkard for drinking, but arresting him for intoxication.
Arrest is violence. it is a passive violence designed to interfere with the free will of others while not harming them beyond their own resistance.
To arrest a person is to attack them. be it for their own good, or for the safety of others is irrelevant in pertinence to what it is.
is it a good or bad thing to arrest someone? that is a different issue.
what i am asking is how one can rationally justify attacking someone for antisocial crime?
im going to call drug use antisocial crime here.
It is crime because it is against the law, antisocial because it is not a crime done against anyone else, like theft, or murder. a victimless crime is an antisocial crime. it does not impact society directly, and to treat it like crime is to preempt that it is bad, to create criminals, we are guilty until proven innocent.
inverted evidence, so long as the evidence is in our bodies, we are guilty.
guilty of what? possession of a chemical? i possess a ton of Oxygen dude, and a lot of H2O too, what's a little THC gonna hurt? my reputation? ouch, who cares? bam, there it is, why does anyone care?
so what if you dont like what i put in my body? im not attacking you, so why should you attack me?
where is that mentality?
what is it?
Why is there a stigma in your brain things?
