Why is there a stigma?
We all know pretty much exactly how it happened.
Anslinger pulled an asshole move and fucked us all over.
but the thing i dont understand is why people give into stigma mentality.
there is a stigma against smoking pot.
there are many stigmas, none of them can i understand, not the stigma itself, but the mentality to actually enforce a stigma!
yeah, drinking can kill your liver, but it's the individual's choice. why worry about it? it's their liver, not yours, why would you be so concerned as to take it as far as violence?
When i say violence, i do not mean beating a drunkard for drinking, but arresting him for intoxication.
Arrest is violence. it is a passive violence designed to interfere with the free will of others while not harming them beyond their own resistance.
To arrest a person is to attack them. be it for their own good, or for the safety of others is irrelevant in pertinence to what it is.
is it a good or bad thing to arrest someone? that is a different issue.
what i am asking is how one can rationally justify attacking someone for antisocial crime?
im going to call drug use antisocial crime here.
It is crime because it is against the law, antisocial because it is not a crime done against anyone else, like theft, or murder. a victimless crime is an antisocial crime. it does not impact society directly, and to treat it like crime is to preempt that it is bad, to create criminals, we are guilty until proven innocent.
inverted evidence, so long as the evidence is in our bodies, we are guilty.
guilty of what? possession of a chemical? i possess a ton of Oxygen dude, and a lot of H2O too, what's a little THC gonna hurt? my reputation? ouch, who cares? bam, there it is, why does anyone care?
so what if you dont like what i put in my body? im not attacking you, so why should you attack me?
where is that mentality?
what is it?

Why is there a stigma?
People need things to latch onto, to believe. Growing up bombarded by this nonsense, are you at all shocked that people believe it? Did you ever believe it? All we have are beliefs as it's very difficult to see beyond something. So, we latch on hoping that this ship were on isn't going to sink and that everything contained inside it is real. Of course, that isn't true. Reality doesn't really exist as a concrete thing. Something you can say is real because when you see what is real, you'd find out that it's really just everything and nothing all at once. Dunno if that last part made sense

Why is there a stigma?
well it's not a matter of belief that really bothers me, i believe suicide bombers are bad people, but literally, the individuals, i an willing to bet, are good people.
just because they are bombing people and themselves doesnt mean they are inherently bad people, it is jsut the hype that leads to such rash actions i cannot grasp.
the hype that initiates the suicide bombing, the hype that initiates prohibition, the hype that keeps us at war, it's the mentality i simply cannot follow!
yes, at one time i believed drugs were bad, and when D.A.R.E. was visiting my school, i tried to be attentive and listen to what was being said, because it sounded serious, but i never once considered apprehending drug users. ever. i even asked why they arrested drug users and the guy gave me one of those pat answers that doesnt explain jack shit. something like because they are harmful to society or something like that, i dont remember, but i remember knowing better than to pursue it... and boy am i glad i didnt!
but all that aside, i fully understand how and why people might BELIEVE drugs are bad, but to ACT on that is so far beyond any means of sanity, it just makes ya want to squeeze the little retarded DEA agents necks till their eyes pop out their anus!!!
>.< ahem 'scuze me sorry 'bout that...
anyways yeah, i dont like how people can think their attacks can ever be justifyed.
and parting words that seem approperiate:
We are all one, we all came from the same source, and we all experience the same end to life; death. we all share one planet, one star, universe, one galaxy. we are one.
so if you attack me, you might as well be attacking yourself, for we are but two cells in one body. if your brain cells started acting like humanity, you'd probably be brain dead, so let's stop with the immature and irrational psychosis, and stop apprehending each other for victimless "crimes".

Why is there a stigma?
I think people try to regulate morality (cause really thats what prohibition is) because the stoner getting stoned and then having the audacity not to die is an act that flies in the face of the moral beliefs of the establishment.
Also one needs to realise that the basic morality of the establishment is one of a sort of base-line christianity, and that type of morality implies that those who believe are duty bound by their belief to try and convert others to their way of thinking.
When someone follows a different path, one that the established morality says is destructive, and yet said someone not only doesn't fail at life, but accels that is seen as almost an insult to the morality that denounced the destructive path so the follower of that path must be stopped.
Note that I am speaking in some broad generalizations. I do realise that some people out there have no intention of forcing their morality on others.
This is just an attemp to explain the type of general mindset that leads to things like prohibition.
