I would like to know the answer to this question as well...
My Wife has a recipe for something that calls for X amount of "washed cannabutter" and we wondered what this meant.

Anybody?

I wash my trim to make hash, then use the leftover washed leaves to make to butter. Its very strong. People usually eat less then a half a brownie and see things.

There's a couple different definitions of 'washing' in this thread. Water-extracted hash (bubble hash or ice hash) is not the same as a liquid-liquid extraction to separate aqueous phase with contaminants from lipid phase with psychoactives. If you make cannabutter out of the waste from ice hash, you still need to 'wash' it according to that sticky if you intend to make a more difficult edible out of it. Brownies don't require washed butter because the chocolate flavor is very strong.
