Ok guys so let me check you all up...I planted the germinated seeds about 3 weeks ago and was growing them outside, however since the days are becoming shorter the plants were only receiving about 8-10 hrs of sunlight which isnt enough in the veg stage...so...

I replanted them into smaller containters and put them in a new makeshift grow cabinet...the dimensions are about 2'x1'x3'...

Lighting: 4 - General Electric 26w CFL (6500k)

Soil - Mixture of Miracle Gro Organic potting soil and some Dark organic soil with manure, humus, nitrogen, etc...

Here's a few pics of the current setup...

I wouldnt start using nutes until its got its first few sets of true leaves, and then only give it 1/4 or at most a 1/3 of the recomended amount.
How long are you having the lights on?

Well I think theyre autoflowering so I can leave them on 24/7 right? and is fox farm nutes good?

Hold off on nutes till they look like they need some

soil has some nutes in them anyway :)

biggest mistake a 1st timer can make is adding too much nutes or too early for that matter

I am currently experimenting with 12/12 from seed which seems to get great results

If you are aiming for short grow with good yields and are cramped for space I would recommend this method

If you want to make gargantuan plants, not my specialty :)

I'll be watching this thread!

Starting 12/12 how do you tell it when to flower? no lights for a day?

Im still deciding on what kind of cycles to run...if possible I was just going to do closest to 24/7 as possible...they are lowryder so they wont grow more than 1ft tall anyways...btw that's computer paper on the walls! It does a great job of reflection believe it or not...

I think you can probably get your CFL's a little bit closer maybe 7 or 8 inches from the tops of the plants

well, actually do 10-11 for now and once they are a lil bigger do 7-8 inches

if you start with 12/12 the genotype will determine the flowering

My plants are starting to sex in my grow log in my sig and they are 12/12 from seed

Most things ive read say that 20/4 is recommended for autoflowers, my second batch of lowryder 2s were on 18/6 and i didnt find it worked as well as the 20/4. Good luck and hope allgoes well.

Im thinking about adding some more CFLs...maybe like 2 more...should i stay with the 6500K or try the 2700K?

I would recommend getting some more lights.
Id personally use a mixture of 6500k and 2700k, especially if its a auto flower strain, but a lot of people don't agree with having a mixture so read up a little and see whats worked best with them.
Good luck:thumbsup:

I was planning on either replacing all the 6500k with 2700k during flowering...otherwise i can put them outside since its soo humid down here but with winter we only get 8 hours of sunlight...

Ok did some research and I think Im gonna upgrade to a HPS MH combo light package....either a 250watt or 400watt system...

High Tech Garden Supply (http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=47981)

My setup is 33" x 18 " x 33"....

should i go with the 250 or the 400? They are the same price...

400 would be better but be hotter and take more electricity. 250 should be fine too and less electricity, and not as hot.

The little one is looking great, but my other ones look a little yellowish?
Remember they are about 4 weeks old...but they have only been under light for about a week and a half because I was growign them outside previously...

Can you get some closer pictures? Does your camera have a macro mode for closeups? Can't really see much in those pics.

What size are your pots? they recommend a min of a 5 liter pot for the auto ak-47.

ToPHeR31
10-20-2008, 01:17 PM
theyre about 3 gal pots...if anything i think they would be too big for a lowrider..

lunarose

The auto ak-47 is suppose to be a larger auto flowering strain. They are suppose to grow up to 2 feet in height with some bushiness. The breeder does recommend 5-7 liter pots to grow them in so 3g shouldn't be a problem. I'm growing my first grow of this strain and mine seem awfully small too mine are three weeks old and maybe 3 inches tall. Did you find that your new light set up made any difference? I am using CFLs on mine.
