i am starting to grow todat i had hoped to use my small florecents to start the grow process but i cant afford the setup for the bulbs at the moment is it possible to do the full process under my 600w hps thankyou

if you have a 600w hps why would you use or want floros? That HPS should be perfect

Use one of the multi-spectrum bulbs and you should be fine.

thanks for your replys my prob is i cany afford to set up the multi spectrum so i wanted to know if the 600w could be used for the first stage or is it to powerful to start the plants with

yeah dud you can grow the first stage under anything? No such thing as to strong just to close and hot.

thanks for your replys everyone im gona go for it :-) does anyone know how far away i should keep my 600w hps from the soil streight after the germination tho? cheers :D

o.k so you've got babies and these things wont need 600 w so pull the thing like a foot back from the babies or more, if you buy a heat shield you can get closer but during the veging state the fuckers leap out of the ground anyway. I find when Im budding i want to get the lamp down as close as possible.

600w HPS would work great, but to make it all better, get a HPS-MH convo bulb for vegetation, then switch during flowering
