even though i hardly ever watch sports in general, and the olympics never really psyche me up any. For some reason anytime im near a tv i feel the urge to have the olympics be on, its not even that there is nothing better on, its more of a fact that i find it very interesting. First off, its a bunch of off hand sports that are rarely played today in the mainstream. Second, its not even that they are doing it for the money. They are doing it for the pure sport, and who can be considered number one. Beautiful.

How about Fcuk Tibet and just watch the Olympics (only kidding).
The opening ceremony was awesome.
Britain managed a Gold on day 2 it can only go downhill from there.
Have you noticed how many of the Chinese female competitors look like men, just an observation LOL
Cheers

Personally could care less about the olympics and all the hype. Besides watching the mens Basketball I find it boring. Also the womans beach volleyball is always a good thing to watch :D. Other then those 2 I usually will just watch the opening and closing ceremonies.

that was the most pumped ive even been while watching the Olympics in any year! I was just screaming at the TV. LOL, and my girl who doesnt like sports was right there with me. Truly a great moment in sports! USA USA USA !!!
come on, Olympics boring! whens the last time you saw an athlete that is as dominate as michael phelps get that excited over a win. Football, baseball, basketball are all a bunch of spoiled millionaires that play for money. It was one of the few times that seeing that pure excitement from an athlete made me so proud to be an American!

i agree fully, and watching the slow mo, not that we lost, cause we are the US and we dont lose anything important, but it seems to me that both the US and france teams touched first, though being awesome as we are we actually can aim at things and can touch the pad your trained for months and years to touch to make the lap count. It was purely physical error, though it goes to show that the us is the best seeing as we make less mistakes! i cant wait until the winter olympics though, cause for some crazy reason, i have a natural attraction to curling, i find it almost relaxing to watch.

Tonight was fun. That men's gymnastics team is amazing, and I have loved watching Michael Phelps keep adding to his tally of gold medals. Many of y'all weren't alive back when Mark Spitz worked his swimming magic and won 7 gold medals at the 1972 Olympics in Munich. It's fun to see someone who's young enough to practically be his grandson surpass that tally!

Oh I LOVE the Olympics! But I prefer the winter games because it means one thing:
CURLING!
My fave game for the summer games is badmitten.
I like these games because it seems like I could do both and be relatively decent.
BTW America is kicking ass and taking names! Were #1 right now with 27 medals (thanks Phelps haha), China is following with 22 medals and #3rd place goes to South Korea with 12 medals.

phelps is the man, he pretty much represents america in the olympics. He has now won the most gold medals out of anyone in olympics history with 11, and has a few more to go before the olympics are over.Phelps becomes winningest Olympic athlete ever - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/story//ap/20080813/ap_on_sp_ol/oly_swm_swimming)
and like i said earlier, curling is the coolest, i think its cause its a game of skill, and teamwork. The rules are easy to pick up, and it fustrating when things dont go how you plan.

Those girls were intense on the uneven bars last night. I'd never seen anything like it.
And there's no way all of them were over 16.

One of the Chinese girls even had a baby tooth missing. Do 16 year olds still have baby teeth?! I don't think so! :wtf:
Still..... good show, though.

The Olympics are way bad
all those muscles! like muscle overload !
They all have worked so hard bless their hard working hearts
the officials need to add a warm up first that doesnt count
I dint think the USA girls gymnastics really needed that Silver medal
they were fallin like flys they kinda looked ratty to me
as the weight requirements changed?
Bella would know!
The USA girls team seemed a little pudgy for gymnast
Ive enjoyed em anyway
opening ceremonys were spectacular !!
China rocks man!
Go USA!!

^ She wasn't chubby in any way. She couldn't have been more than 110 pounds. But you are correct, they did seem a bit...unfocused. They were making lame mistakes like stepping out of bounds and shit.
And I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed how ripped everyone is haha. Makes me feel like a lazy jerk. Their sweating and breathing hard and I'm on the couch with a bowl and some Burger King.

That is a good picture, but does anyone know why exactly that vollleyball player is presenting her ass to the president? Does anyone know if he took the opportunity to grab it?

Actually there is one chick in the first pic with all the naked guys. She looks like she is maybe 3 feet tall -- about the size of a Chinese gymnast, or possibly a naked hobbit girl.

The Olympics are awesome. There's TV coverage basically 24/7...the whole world is participating...the USA always racks up the medals...and it only happens every 4 years.
And since they're on TV all day long, the Olympics are great for parties. It's like hiring a DJ, except it's free and there's sports on TV through the whole party!! As much fun as it is to watch regular sports while baked, the Olympics kicks it up another notch.
And I'm more of a normal American ESPN-ized sports fan, but the Olympics helps me "think outside the box"!
Sounds good to me

The only problem i find with the USA is that you may know how to win well but you don't take running up so good.
Check out the chick that came second in between two British swimmers, she was expected to win but came in second, you could have cut lemons on her face.
I wont deny it though Michael Phelps (the swimmer) is fantastic, he has taken training to a whole new level, breaking world records left right and centre, it's such a joy to watch.
Thats what a realy admire about USA, you take pride in your Athletes, you support the determined/gifted, in Britian you have to work a 9 to 5 job yet still be expected to train and if you don't do well you get f**ked over by the media, there's no hope for this country and i can't wait to leave.
Then you get s**thead footballers who go out get drunk and d**k over some kid, serve a few days in jail and then come back out to there £70,000 a month job, there's no justice in this country.
I am looking forward to watching the USA vs China Olympics though, it's basically between those two countrys, the Chinese just look scary as hell, and USA are always great.
Beach Volleyball is awsome, so much more fun playing it than watching though, so many ridiculously attractive women :-D
And i'd much rather be training and competing then sitting of the couch getting stoned (<---- i enjoy this part) and eating Burger King (blerrrg) but then i do cheat because working out/training when i'm baked is my new favourite thing :-D
But yeah the Olympics = Awsome.
Looking forward to the track events though, USA always own at those :-D
