Hey all, Ive been browsing the forums for a while and figured I would post some pics to get some feedback.

This is my first grow, I followed a DIY rubbermaid guide for the grow room and am using 6 CFLs for lighitng. I am only attempting 2 plants currently and the project is more of an experiment than anything else.

The strain is a NL strain that ive had seeds to for awhile.

Any ways here are the pics, taken from my cell so I apologize for the bad quality. They are 3 weeks old since we germinated and planted them.

Let me know what you think

The first two pictures are of the plant that is growing the fastest however I noticed a couple of leafs have started to curl, is this normal?

Looks pretty sweet. =) Cool thing on the NL strain as well.

What are your temps during the hottest part of the day?

And are you vegging with 6500k's or 2700k's?

First day switching into 12/12 light cycle. Took some pics but noticed one of the plants looks weird. Any suggestions? It looks like its stretching or dieing on me. I am not sure.

Please let me know what you think of the smaller plant! I want to save it if possible.

Good plant:

Any idea why the 2nd plant looks to be drooping / stretched / whatever you want to call it?

ova....

the plant just looks a little overwatered....the one u say is the bad plant might just need little watering or extended days you water.... the plant looks good anyways....i really wouldnt change it.....how old r they?

Also......yoour leafs twisting is a result of high temps or being to close to the lights.....i also run a rubbermaid box check it out sometime! good luck

Ovrm1nd, I agree with killa on the overwatering possibly causing the drooping problem. Your plants look really great! They are about 1 week ahead of my pedigree beans, but they look like they are about 2 weeks ahead, easily! You're doing good work with them.

I'm looking forward to following your grow, and I wish you much success! Be good out there!

Hey all, it is now 15 days since I started the 12/12 light cycle and wanted to give you all an update. I think one of the plants is a male but i am not 100% certain.

Here is the plant that i think is a male. It is the one that was drooping in the last post.

Here is the other one, I still don't think its showing signs of sex yet. Hopefully it will soon.

Let me know what you think and do you think I should yank out the plant if it is male?

cant tell for sure man but if they look any what like balls in clusters (thats what it looks like to me) then its a male.

Looks male to me. Good job though!

That one plant is definitely a male, and you'll probably want to yank him out of there, especially if the other one shows female parts.
They're looking healthy!
If you stick a thermometer in there & try to get the temps down into the mid-70s to low 80's, you will see some serious improvement...
Rock on!

I agree.....its a male......dooobster is the one that told me my plants two weeks before they showed balls.....id trust him....

another thing.....if you want those temps down.....remove the tinfoil or mylar and paint the inside white......my temps rarely go above 82F and i live in a very hot place.....very hot...temps are like 96F outside.....oh i mean 96F at 7am.

PS....my ch9 grow is in a rubbermaid box

Thanks for the tips guys, ill have to get a thermometer in there and see what the temps are at.

Just another update for you all, that one plant was definately a male. The following day i noticed alot more clusters up and down the stem so I yanked it out of there.

Here are some pictures of the remaining plant that I have. I think it might be a female!

Let me know what you think, and if you think its indeed a female plant.

Hey guys, figured id post up another update, so far I think the plant is doing great. I have started to notice a tiny bit of brownish coloring on the tips, but not bad at all. Still havent had a chance to check on the temps. Hopefully I can do that in a day or two. I'll let you all know as soon as I find out what they are.

Looks good. I just started my first grow today and I kinda have the same set up. Did you adjust keep your cfls at the top of the box or did you raise them as the plant got bigger?

Ovrm1nd

i left the cfls at the top of the box throughout the grow, i also just added 2 homemade carbon filters to help reduce the smell, hopefully they will work

Hey guys, sorry for the late update. Due to unforseen circumstances I had to transplant her. It was harsh and she almost died, but I think she is going to make it until the end. :pimp:

Day 37 of flowering

Let me know what you guys think, My camera sucks for up close shots so I tried my best, I used a 10x magnifying glass to try and help.

Alot of the trichs are turning brown and red, how long do you guys think she has left?

To determine the stage she is at..............go to radio shack......get yourself a 30x mini microscope for $12.....cut off a few sugar leaves.....examine under microscope.......id say you at least want 60% amber trics....40% cloudy for a good high!......hope this helps...but you really cant tell from the pics.....id say you at least have another 3-5 wks though!

Day 52 of flowering and I decided it was time to harvest. I am happy with the results of this one plant. I quick dryed a small amount just so see how it was, and I must say I love this strain :stoned:

I have better pics on a different camera that ill try and upload tomorrow, for now the cell pics are all I have. Not sure of the wet weight as I didnt have a scale handy. I'll let you all know the dry weight when it finishes slow drying and curing. :pimp::smokin:

It still needs some trimming done but ill finish that when its all dry. Enjoy!

My entire grow used the same 6 CFLs. Cheap easy setup and im happy with the results, but one thing i've learned from this grow is that ill only do feminized seeds if im growing 1-2 plants.

I totally agree with this....Fem seeds for micro grow are ideal......Hey Overmind...you should check out CH9....the guy has some cheap fems which are incredible.

But great log bro.....them buds look large! Cant wait for the dry weights....considering im doing the rubbermaid thing too!

well i'd have to say clones would be the most ideal, given you have a small area to keep a bonsai. consistency and canopy efficiency is overly important when using cfls. using clones would minimize the need to lst and/or raise plants up down

fem seeds are not a bad way though! Just pricey!

good grow overmind, really lovin' the results, following, and respect CFLS are producing

I was thinking about cloning but not really sure how its done, Ive read a few things on it and I will probably attempt it for my next grow. Killa, what is CH9?

Thanks for all the feedback guys:jointsmile::smokebong:

Greenatik......yeah clones would be ideal....but some microgrower dont have a seperate mother or cant get clones...then go fem seeds.

CH9 is a breeder which i assume is in N. America(california)....He produces only female seeds.....he uses female pollen from 5 plants to create his female seeds(his test grows show his cubing the pollen removes the tendency for female seeds to hermi).....I read about them on IC has a help desk there for his seeds)....The guy is ultra cool.....always answers questions with in a day....no better person to get advice from than the breeder himself.

and cloning is easy bro......just do a little research and take the plunge.....I do it the old school way with a dome and 2-13w cfls. i share my technique in my ch9 log if you like to check it out!
