My dealer and my cousin have both quit smoking. They are the only people I see regularly that smoke weed. It makes me feel kind of lonely.

They both smoked everyday and smoked a lot. They don't know each other, but at pretty much the same time they told me they have quit smoking. So now I don't have anyone to talk to about cannabis or smoke with. I don't even have a connection any more.

I don't understand why so many people smoke so much weed that they get burnt out and have to stop. That's the reason I don't smoke all the time. It makes me upset that people burn out like that, because then they become all "anti-cannabis" and shit... but it isn't a bad plant, they just abused it (whatever their limit was, they went past it I suppose).

My dealer gave me the snail mail address of someone who will send me some... but she'll only send me like a couple oz. worth at a time. I'm not going to risk federal prison (even though the risk is small, crossing state lines is serious, especially with that amount) for weed. The feds can get brutal. So there is no way I'm doing that. Plus I have no idea who the person is... it is just sketchy as all hell.

I have one buddy at (law) school that I know tokes, and we've been meaning to get together sometime. Hopefully he'll still smoke when the semester starts in August and we can get up. But even he told me last semester he was thinking about quitting. He spent this summer as an intern with a District Attorney's office, so that probably isn't going to help.

I guess I just need to meet more people somehow. I know there are a lot more people that must burn in my law school class. I just haven't met them or gotten to know them well enough to exchange that bit of info, I guess.

Hopefully one of my two plants I have growing in the National Forest this year will turn out female. I had 3 plants last year, and all were male. I had 8 this year (to try to get a female and some seeds so I could have my own regular home grown supply), but a severe thunderstorm and a flood washed them all away. I rescued two after they spent two days wrapped up in a brier patch down stream and have been nursing them back to health.

Is God trying to tell me something?

I'm going to nix that idea and assume instead it is Satan who is making all my friends quit and trying to kill all my plants.

Okay. I'm done venting. Peace.

Yeah its allways made me sad when a friend of mine says he stopped smoking.
But then again I've thought about stopping a few times also.

I feel ya man.. I've got a few toker friends but I prefer to hang out with more of the intellectual type tokers. These friends of mine are more of the 'get fucked up' and do stupid crap variety. Which is fun on occassion, but not most of the time. I'm more of a thinker/problem solver. Always have been... so I feel kind of lonely when I'm stoned and researching or reading. No one to discuss my ideas with in person.

You should have more than one dealer, expand out a bit. Just in case something like this comes up you can still get high and it's a guarantee. And I bet you your dealer could easily hook you up with someone else (in your area) and you'd be paying about the same price you were.

But yeah it sucks not to smoke, I didn't smoke for about 5 months when I moved to a new state. But eventually you'll find a new connect if it means going threw your old one or just finding him on your own.

Good luck on your green search.

Don't be upset with your friends for moving on, it's obivously something they want to do and if they are achieving that it can't be a bad thing right? It's just one of those things that happens. What more can you do other than move on and find some other friends to smoke with?

I know how you feel man, my 2 best friends have also quit smoking in the past 2 years, and neither have touched weed since.

Having someone to blaze with not only makes it more affordable, but lighting one up with a buddy and just chillin is a great feeling. About 90% of the time I smoke by myself, but im ok with that.

As far as your dealer situation goes, that sucks pretty seriously . I have had a consistent hookup for over a year now, but I keep in touch with other smokers in my town, so if theres ever a problem I can have at least a quick 8th or something to smoke.

To find a new connection, the only thing you really have to worry about is being too shy. As long as you do your best to meet people, you'll find a new dealer and be puffin on the good stuff in no time.

I once woke up in the middle of the night, picked my weed up from my bedside stand, and ate it all (2 grams about) because I thought God had told me in my dreams to stop smoking. I don't even believe in God. When I actually woke up, I was all pissed because I thought that the eating the weed had been part of the dream too...

And is that John Ritter smoking a joint in the avatar above me?

Actually I think that's Kevin Nealon. Looks like it's from an episode of weeds.

That is fucking hilarious. Apparently you need to clarify your statement "I don't even believe in God," by adding ". . . when I'm awake" onto the end. LOL. Eating two grams cold!? That is some serious faith my friend.

Seriously though, for all you believers out there, say a prayer for my two plants. I really want a female after two years of trudging around in the poison ivy, mosquito, tick, spider, and snake infested swamp I'm growing in. I want this lyme disease I probably have now to be worth it. (jk).

And thanks for the encouragement people. I will eventually find a dealer, I just need to be patient and get out more to talk to folks. Once the school year starts I'll find some good dank. And if our prayers work, I'll have a flowering girl by then anyway.

Finally, Turny, I doubt God gave you that dream. It was probably just all the B.S. you hear from our churches and our culture making you think God wanted you to stop. See Isaiah 43:24 where God says he desires some of the fragrant plant "kanabosm" to be given to Him from His people's stores, along with other sacrifices.

Popular Hebrew translations claim the word "calamus" (as western translations have it translated in that verse) should actually be translated "cannabis"... which I think is pretty bad ass. Besides, "calamus" is itself a stimulant anyway, so either way... God digs the psychotropic drugs. Never heard about that verse in church, did you?

Also, in Exodus 30:23 we see kanabosm is extracted into oil to be poured on the priests. The units of measurements are in shekels and hins, but since one shekel equals approximately 16.37 grams this means that the THC from over 9 pounds of flowering cannabis tops were extracted into a hind, about 6.5 litres, of oil! Be careful handling that stuff!

So, don't blame God for that dream. He digs the sticky icky. :)

dude, i know how that is, i have been told that my one friend does plan to quit smoking due to their pursuance of an addictions counselor as a career, i hope she does well, but at the same time i hope she fails because she is the coolest ever. And then my other friend who is one of my main hookups is going to college, and my contact with said person is going to probably be cut, against my will, but will be. But luckily though one of my previous friends from days way past is back, and he and some of my other friends are actually growing, so i have a constant hookup, they have some blueberry strain preparing for a winter harvest, so i cant really wait till christmas this year, moreso than usual. And i do have quite a little stash of seeds, so i will never truely be unable, other than the limiting factors of not being able to grow right now.

but, i feel that at one point in all of our lives we reach a point where we ask ourselves, what is the point? And for atleast a short while most of us will be smoke free, some of us will return to the ganj, others will never look back, and some will occasionally dip their toes in the fountain of happiness.

but whatever makes the people around us the best they think they are is what is really important. People are selfish inherently, no-one actually desires change like that happening to the people they know, but they wont actually try to sabatoge them, most of the time atleast, because while we are all selfish, we all are levelheaded, afterall smoking makes you a better person, even if you've only done it once, for it is an experience afterall, and the more you experience the more you are.

Excellent addition P4B. I thought of this song as soon as I read the thread, hahahaha.
Gots to love you some Hank.
Its funny people wonder at my age how I would enjoy him, but he is one of my faves.

In the meantime, until you find some new toker buds, remember that Cannacom is filled with people to talk to, who are most likely high, and you can find pretty much any discussion you want.
Or start a new one. I would probably respond. I am going to attend law school soon as well. I'm sure we could have some discussions.

i dont see how not. firstly simply the act of smoking MJ is the simplest form of protest that one can use. And if he is in support of MJ reform then he should continue his use at his own discretion.

2-The fact that he will be upholding some parts of the law does not mean that he has to uphold all the parts of the law. And his aquired knowledge from the fact that he is learning law is a good way to help protect yourself against incrimination or in a case which he may be involved, or not involved in.

I forsee him as becoming a useful figure in the long run if he supports the use of MJ and completes his law degree. It always helps to have someone on your side who knows the rules.

that weather sounds nasty. Move to Colorado; we don't have huge thunderstorms, floods, plants drifting downstream etc. Plus, we're very pot-friendly out here.

Very cool. I highly recommend law school. For the first time in my life I feel like I'm actually learning something in school. It has been very interesting and mind-expanding. It has also made me appreciate the stupidity and moronic origin of our modern cannabis (and some other laws) even more.

Man, I would *love* to. If you know any lawyers interested in hiring a summer associate for next summer, let me know! I'll come check it out. I should be looking up firms there and sending them resumes regardless. My wife and I honeymooned in Colorado and it really is gorgeous. And the pot-friendly thing would be nice.

This really was a freak storm though. I didn't have anything like that occur last year. I enjoy N. Carolina because I love having the beach nearby (I surf and sail) but also having mountains a few hours away for backpacking and rock climbing.

But you can't beat the majesty of the Rockies. Plus if there are big lakes in Colorado I suppose I could at least still do the sailing bit...

I have a mix of smokers and non smokers but frankly i wish all of them blazed. At least my non smokers are kool about it and don't judge me, thus i don't judge them. Smoke by yourself dude, make new friends, like: Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Syd Barrett, David Bowie. Why not? :stoned:

To figure out who at school is in favor of toking and who's not- just bring up the Rachel Hoffman case (both current and controversial) and listen. The pro-cannabis stance will be evident in their discussions. ;)
