I was browsing a garage sale in my hometown yesterday, when I saw this sweet little glass jar which read "Vitamin C". It only cost a nickel, so I swooped in for the kill, positive that I had the steal of the century in my hands. However, I wonder about the large cork lid. Will keeping weed in my new vitamin Cannabis corked jar dry it out or affect the taste at all? The cork is dry and clean, but I've never really heard of anyone using a cork lidded jar to store herb.

Your buds dry out faster than a mason jar or jar with rubber seal, but tis better than a bag.

Put a little bit of plastic food wrap over the jar before you cork it, and it will be PERFECT.

or dip the cork in some melted candle wax like the makers of wine do to their natrual cork before they bottle it

^ dude, finally someone said a really good solution, the wax was exactly what i would say, or, if they prefered, a type of rubber sealant would work as well, like the stuff that you can spray or dip and then its coated with plastic.

im lost, why use ANYTHING else, and just realize the cork is all you'll need!! IMO

I agree. There's nothing wrong with using a jar with a corked lid.

If you have doubts, put some water in the jar, put the cork on and turn it upside down. If the water stays in, you have a decent seal.

I have a corked jar that I use for short term storage. It does allow more airflow than a jar with a rubber seal. When I get new buds I usually leave them in the corked jar for 48-72 hours so they dry out a little (some people around me don't cure their nugs as long as they should). After this, I throw them in a truly airtight jar for longer term storage. I guess it's kind of overkill, but I'd rather smoke slightly dry bud than risk losing some to mold.
