Hi i bought two bags of kellogg patio plus soil today but only has about 6% perlite, i am concerd that it wont drain much. Is this a problem? Should i buy perlite separate to add? Thanks

You almost always need to add perlite to any commercial potting soils you'll find on the market. If the soil's prefertilized, I'd add about 25% perlite to 75% potting mix. Even if it's not prefertilized, which most are to some extent, the addition of perlite greatly improves aeration to soils that retain a good deal of moisture. You can pick up bags of it at your local Home Depot, Lowe's, etc.

It also depends on how often u want to water i use 15-20% perlite witch is not that much i know people that do 50% perlite 50% soil but to me thats to much i water everyother day my soil never really gets to dry always has moisture and i never hav a problem with root rot just depend on your specs!!!!:thumbsup:Good Luck!!:rastasmoke:
