Reddish Glow

I was buying lights for my fluorescents for veg, but wasn't really paying attention. The fluorescents are emitting a reddish light, and while I know that this isn't optimal for a plant, it looks like it's halted growth. I know for the benefit of my plants I should go get new lights, but is this something I should be doing immediately?

And why is that?

To answer your question captainkeef; you can use either spectrum to grow. Blue (5500k-6500k) is ideal for vegetative growth. It allows for more compact nodes and more foliage.

Red (2700k - 3500k) is more ideal for flowering and causes some stretching in the plant.

You can use either spectrum to grow. It's just at any given stage a certain light temperature is preferred over the other.

You'll be fine for a few days.. a week, the entire grow with growing with reddish colored lights. Again it's just not ideal for veg.

Thank you very much, that's exactly the answer I was looking for. I do notice some stretching, but the lights are about 3" away so I'm assuming they're just not growing efficiently. This site is amazing, thank you so much.
