first off sorry for being such a noob but iv read LOADS about growing but knowing something and actually experienceing it are two very different things ..... i guess im just paranoid about transplanting and all the small things !, so can i put my germinated seed in lets say a 3 gallon pot from start to finish or is that a bad thing , also when watering do i pour the water over the whole plant or just into the soil , thanks :D peace to all

Tis better to transplant than to try to troubleshoot an overly-large pot.

She knows her stuff! And you might think about clicking the link in her sig!

Remember, it's a relatively hardy weed, way more plants are killed by "over-indulging" them (over-fert, over-water, and in clones, too much light), than are killed by "physical abuse" during transplanting. Short of ripping 9/10s of the roots off, even a clumsy
gardener will get a good percentage of surviving plants.

If you are still freaked out, get some plants- marigolds, tomatoes, whatever, and practice on them! After your 3rd or 4th plant, you'll see how easy it really is!
